Can a Hexblade choose Pact of the Chain and have a special familiar?

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Why wouldn't they be able to? Pact Boon is a warlock feature, not a subclass feature.

You're right, but for some reason I got things confused with some other things from their invocations and thought they were the same thing.
Sort of a blind spot but anyway... WOW! So I can play a Warlock Hexblade with a special familiar. And any invocations that are for Hexblade or Pact of the Chain can be selected as the character would meet both qualifications.

I don't think there are any invocations for subclasses (outside of UA) (Edit: there is technically maddening hex and relentless hex which work with hexblade features, that is it). The "hexblade invocations" you are thinking of are probably for pact of the blade, which you would not be able to take with pact of the chain.

Yes. As pointed out, pact boons are not limited by subclass.
