What do you think? Is this possible? If you conjure Mirror Image, and then cast Disguise Self, would the Mirror Images alter their appearances as well? Or if you cast Disguise Self first and then Mirror Image, do the images mirror what you really look like? Or the disguised/illusory version?
Also curious what your feelings would be on non-combat uses for Mirror Image. It seems pretty locked into combat situations, but would you allow creative uses of the spell in roleplaying situations?
Going into the deep end of the details is usually the purview of the DM.
In this case, Mirror Image includes this interesting tidbit: "the duplicates move with you and mimic your actions, shifting position so it's impossible to track which image is real."
What do I personally get from that? That the intention is for the images to be a constant mirror of yourself. It wouldn't be much of a defense if it someone hit you once and you could tell who the original was from the wound.
In the same line of thought, we can surmise drawing a weapon or dropping something you hold is also reflected (they do mimic your actions). So does removing bracers, presumably. And, to extrapolate, changing your shirt. Mingling magic into this maybe blurs the line, but I see little difference between a normal disguise and a magical one in this case, especially since the images mirror the casting motions etc (if you do it, in any case).
Out of combat applications are definitely possible, if a bit rare. Perhaps if you were disguised as a soldier and needed to suddenly look like 4 soldiers marching together. Maybe if you are an intimating creature, then 4 of you would be more intimidating. Or a party trick or distraction - would very much assist with pickpocketing if the victim didn't know where to look. It's a bit limited by only lasting a minute, but creative uses are still imaginable.
I'm playing a warlock with the Mask of Many Faces (Disguise Self at Will) Eldritch Invocation and I was trying to think of unsettling ways to heighten this power. I'm a fan on creative/non traditional uses for spells and I imagined the creep factor that might multiply if there are 4 mirror images of yourself trying to kill you. Mirror Image is one of those spells that I've never given much thought beyond its basic defensive utility, but might be able to generate some interesting role playing moments.

Thanks for the input.

I would definitely enjoy those aesthetics. Warlock of Very Many Faces. Spend much time creeping people out a la Pyat Pree from GoT.
