I have a question about the Metamagic adapt feat. If as a wizard I pick up the feat and use the sorcery points, can I then spend a 1st level spell slot to make more sorcery points to use on metamagic?
As a pure wizard I would not have flexible casting from Lv.2 sorcerer. But am still only using the points for metamagic not turning them into spell slots. let me know your thoughts.
Honestly, Metamagic Adept is something of a trap for non-Sorcerers; one or two uses of certain metamagic a day is really not worth a feat.
If you’ve already taken a 2 level dip into sorcerer, but don’t want to take a 3rd because you don’t want to loose that level in your other class, then Metamagic Adept can be worth it as an alternative way to gain access to a couple specific Metamagics. But that’s about it. For example, a Bard X / Sorcerer 2 who doesn’t want to sacrifice potential access that last Magical Secrets at 18th level, but really, really wants Subtle and Quickened Spell. Stuff like that.
You can pull your shenanigans twice a day; in rare circumstances it's a useful trick, but it's more ribbon than core feature. It would take a very specific campaign to make this more valuable than a straight ASI or a half-feat like Fey Touched.
ASI is the weakest thing. Fey touched is an absolutely great feat that lets you ... cast two low level spells, each once a day (plus adds them to your spell list).
Doing subtle spell twice a day lets you do something that you could not do and works on 9th level spells.
Metamagic Adept is really only worth it for non-sorcerers if you have a very specific gimmick or something that you want to pull off but you don't want to skip 3 levels of your primary class just to get to metamagic. Maybe a Warlock who wants to have a nova burst of Eldritch Blast attacks in a single round, or a Wizard who wants access to Subtle Spell so they can cast Charm Person on someone in front of a bunch of witnesses without anyone noticing. If you've got one really cool trick that you couldn't accomplish without metamagic, it could be a game changer... but if you just want a little flexibility from metamagic, the feat doesn't really give you enough sorcery points for that kind of versatility.
For the Metamagic Adept feat, I feel the blow options are the viable ones. And it will depend on how your character plans to play and what spells you are preparing that will benefit from these Metamagic options.
All options are subject to change and base don what your character has planned. But with the limited mount of use the feat provides, the above options would probably offer the most benefits for the feat. That brings us to this question, if you take Metamagic Adept feat then what is your spell strategy?
I agree meta magic can be a good feat but you need to have a reason to pick it up. I would be most likely to get it at level 16 or 19 when you have maxed your primary stat and taken a couple of your preferred feats.
For example preparing for the big boss fight by casting extended foresight the night before effectively gives you an extra 9th level spell. If the BBEG is likely to have counterspell subtle can make sure your big spells are not countered.

No. That's part of the Flexible Casting feature, it's not part of the feat.

No, flex casting is a sorcerer ability. You only get 2 points so choose the meta magic types carefully.

Subtle spell alone is worth it. Lets you pull shenangiggans without people knowing who cast the spell and makes it impossible to counter spell.

But is it something you actually need to do? And raising your spell save DC is hardly the weakest thing.
I am not saying that ASI is a bad thing, but raising the DC +1 is the base thing. You do not take a feat unless it is better than that.
