I've been quite interested in the naming of years in the Forgotten Realms and had a few questions pertaining to the fictional and publication history.
The earliest published reference to the Roll of Years I can find is the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting for 3rd edition. Is this the case or is there an earlier book?
I have found lot of lists online, all matching, for the year names, but none of the ones I have looked at cite a specific publication. Are these in the aforementioned campaign guide or are they listed elsewhere, and if so, where?
Where does Alaundo fit into this? Augathra wrote the Roll of Years, but from the Forgotten Realms wiki it says it is widely believed Alaundo wrote the roll of years. Is this merely a common misconception in the Realms?
The Grand History of the Realms is a year-by-year account of history in Faerun if that's what you're looking for. Starts at the birth of the calendar if I remember correctly.

Thank you! This looks like it should clear up quite a few of my questions.
Alundro did, according to the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, write the Roll of Years while he was inflicted with madness in Candlekeep (would anyone like to fact check for me, I don’t have my copy near me). It could be possible that there might be a continuity error somewhere, or, even better… another alternate reality in the multiverse.

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
