I'm starting a new adventure with only one friend, he´s going as a Twillight Cleric. The DM told that the Dungeon we are going to face need a Rogue and High Arcana Knowledge (maybe ability to identify, detect, dissipate magic).
Since my friend is a pure Cleric, full support, it felt to me to make a Rogue/Caster who can also dish some dmg. I was considering Bladesinger/Assassin, but it looks too much damage oriented, can you can suggest an option more focused on Arcana Knowledge, trap manipulation expertise ? Maybe some Bard levels ?
I think a Arcane Trickster Rogue would solve this issue. You would have a pretty good weapon dmg and usefull arcane knowlege for identify/detect/dissipate, and he would cover some magical dmg and support (and as cleric would have large range of options to give you advantage for Sneak Attack).
Seconded on Arcane Trickster. Arcane Trickster gives you about the same level of spells as you would get from going 50/50 Rogue/Wizard, but still gives you the full benefits of being a high level Rogue. This puts your sneak attack to a solid 6d6, and at 11th level this gives you Reliable Talent. You'll need to pick a background that gives you proficiency in Arcana, but once you do you can take expertise in Arcana... with Reliable Talent, even if you have a +0 intelligence that still gives you an absolute minimum of 18 on all Arcana checks.
You also get more options for interacting with traps because you'll have a more versatile mage hand. I would recommend taking the Ritual Caster feat to fully round out your character... it gives you the ability to cast something like Identify or Detect Magic without tapping into your comparatively small number of spell slots.
I’m personally a big fan of the Arcane Trickster with 2 levels of Wiz. Those 2 Wiz levels really add a whole lot of additional Spellcasting capabilities in terms of additional Cantrips, 1st-level spells, and Ritual Casting. Even a single 1st-level spell slot coming back from Arcane Recovery is a nice bonus, and being able to pick up a 2nd level Arcane Tradition feature from a subclass like Bladesinger or Divination or something is far more beneficial IMO than than the slight delay in Rogue features. After that just take it Rogue the rest of the way. An Arcane Trickster9/Wiz 2 will probably make you very happy for your intended goal.
While I do love arcane trickster, a potential alternative could be a Swashbuckler Rogue/Sorcerer multiclass. This would grant you more combat capabilities at the sacrifice of some utility, as well as accelerate your spell progression depending on your class balancing. I do recommend an Arcane Trickster, but this is a good CHA-based alternative.
What you described is exactly my level 4 Arcane Trickster. Playing a drow, and at level 4 took Drow High Magic Feat. Expertise in Arcana, took Identify spell. Can Detect Magic at will. Don't even need a multiclass dip.
Arcane trickster with booming blade and/or green flame blade combo’d with sneak attack can help dish out damage since it’s only two of you.
I also like the idea of swashbuckler and Bladesinger. Maybe start with Bladesinger so you have arcana skill then expertise it when you go rogue. Dex, Int, and Cha will make you a bit MAD (int for Bladesong AC bonus and Cha for initiative bonus). But you can still GFB or BB while sneak attacking and swashbuckler let’s you sneak attack while the cleric stands back (Rakish Audacity)
Arcana Trickster with 2 levels from wizard Blade singer.
Bladesong
Starting at 2nd level, you can invoke an elven magic called the Bladesong, provided that you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield. It graces you with supernatural speed, agility, and focus. You can use a bonus action to start the Bladesong, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you don medium or heavy armor or a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Bladesong at any time (no action required). While your Bladesong is active, you gain the following benefits:
You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1)
Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
You have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.
Feats: Elven Accuracy, Savage Attacker, Mobile, Defensive Duelist
Spells: Snare

Thank you very much !

With Arcane trickster might I suggest using the Skill expert or Skilled feat to get an arcana proficiency
