Description
Bugbears are hairy goblinoids born for battle and mayhem. They survive by raiding and hunting, but are fond of setting ambushes and fleeing when outmatched.
I find this helpful in a game if I am fighting a bugbear
Sorta
So you mean you admit to metagaming? Heretic.
I like to make my bugbears with a greataxe and no shield. I just think it's cooler that way.
I will never be more proud than when my LV2 Wizard killed one of these things in single melee
That’s amazing. Was it a Mountain Dwarf wizard, or just lucky rolls?
How is that thing challenge level 1 he one shots someone with 13 hp even without a critical
So can most of CR 1s.
Hello
uhh... thts how this game works. PCs attack more often then NPCs, thus NPCs hurt more.
"Bug bare" lol
The Bugbear maxillary sinus actually has 4 turbinates. The massive conchae allows a pre-scents conscious to the world. Another extraordinary feature is their almost quasimodo-like posterior torso muscles required for their massive carrying capacity and leveraging their doubled length forearm and upper arm compared to most mammals. The combination of these characteristics is made apparent through the ability to be in melee at a 3m distance and have a hair trigger 'surprise' attack initiating combat. The pictures don't match the mechanics imho.
I must confess that I only understood the “it’s arms should be longer” part of this post.
Same here. I don't know why, but the long armed trait is only for the PC race. As a side note, be careful with characters as bugbears, as a 1st level bugbear with a glaive you have 15 foot reach, which is honestly insane, so pay attention to that (and other monstrous races). For example, yuan-ti pureblood have magic resistance and poison immunity, which is VERY powerful, and what about that orc barbarian who can move 40 feet as a bonus action?
UUUGH!! I hate these guys, In my group we had one attack us, It knocked out some one!! these are not to be used with people starting out.
