Keen Smell. The cat has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Actions
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +0 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 slashing damage.
Ancient gold dragons do not have higher charisma than a cat. I have cats, trust me on this. It needs charisma 30, if not more. Darkvision too, and finesse on its claws, and fall resistance, and expertise in stealth.
And I thought greatwyrm stat blocks were poorly done.
Shouldn't the cat have advantage on hearing and sight as well as smell? It should have darkvision too, maybe even blindsight of some sort, because in real life cats can sense things around them with their whiskers.
Cats can't jump?
Cats have a better sense of smell than dogs IRL, believe it or not; however, I agree they need a good advantage on all three: Perception, Dark vision, and Smell.
The Scottish wildcat's fur is distinctly striped with a solid tabby patterning. Its ringed tail is bushy with a black tip. It differs from the domestic cat by stripes on the cheeks and hind legs, the absence of spots, white markings and coloured backs of the ears. It is heavier than a domestic cat, has longer limb bones and a more robust skull. It is also larger in body size, but with a shorter gastrointestinal tract.
The head-to-body length of males ranges from 578 to 636 mm (22.8 to 25.0 in) with 305–355 mm (12.0–14.0 in) long tails and of females from 504 to 572 mm (19.8 to 22.5 in) with 280–341 mm (11.0–13.4 in) long tails. Condylobasal length of skulls of females varies from 82 to 88 mm (3.2 to 3.5 in) and of males from 88 to 99 mm (3.5 to 3.9 in). Males weigh 3.77–7.26 kg (8.3–16.0 lb), while females are smaller at 2.35–4.68 kg (5.2–10.3 lb).
Beating up a cat is just plain mean. PETA NPCs will take this seriously.
Yes
Always be aware as you ascend Spine Mountain
Unaligned?
I have never seen a cat that isn't some variant of Chaotic.
All the comments about cats needing dark vision and they still haven't fixed it years later 😿
This is what I came here for. XD
High jumping (or vertical jumping) height is, for some odd reason, determined by STR in D&D 5E. Creatures can jump 3 + STR modifier ft. high. Cats with their -4 STR modifier come out of that with 0 vertical jump distance (or -1 if you have some way to interpret that).
Note that elephants with 22 STR can hop around up to 9 ft. in the air by D&D rules even though they cannot jump in reality.
cats should be chaotic evil

NEED DARKVISION
Did you know that 7 lv 20 character fighting tiamot is hard but when you add a cat the difficulty changes to deadly...
I also agree, also buff int! Cats are pretty smart
Cat: Tiny beast
Whomever at WotC made the cat stat block never had a cat. They need darkvision and a better stealth bonus, plus those claws should hurt!
