Elemental Demise. If the efreeti dies, its body disintegrates in a flash of fire and puff of smoke, leaving behind only equipment the efreeti was wearing or carrying.
Innate Spellcasting. The efreeti’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: detect magic
3/day each: enlarge/reduce, tongues
1/day each: conjure elemental (fire elemental only), gaseous form, invisibility, major image, plane shift, wall of fire
Multiattack. The efreeti makes two scimitar attacks or uses its Hurl Flame twice.
Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage.
Hurl Flame. Ranged Spell Attack: +7 to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (5d6) fire damage.

I'm doing this exact thing
Lol by this logic Earth Genasi are part Flail Snail
Just because a genie is an elemental, does not mean all elemental are genies..
Stirges, Mephits, Weirds (GGtR), Primordials, Genies, etc are all different creatures that have the Elemental type. not related genetically so to speak - but related indirectly planarly
Soooo,,
Starting a new Dragon Lance campaign and one of my players wish to be a kender warlock... Hilarious and selected Efreeti for his Patron. He will come across the ring in the first mini adventure and voila.
Any thoughts on how I could run this Patron with a kender... nothwithstanding the Wizards of High Sorcery allowing a Kender into their Tower.. Preposterous!!!!!!
Will make for a lot of LOL's
Genasi are actually stated as being decendants of genies (djinn, efreeti, dao and marid). Pretty sure that's what they're referring too.
In my campaign one efreeti is riding an Tlexolotl.
Why can a 14th lvl warlock of the efreeti cast limited wish, but the efreeti has no such ability.
Cause there's certain ones that CAN cast wish, it's just not your run of the mill Efreeti. Only the TRULY powerful ones can.
Can't just make a pact with any old Genie.
