Description
Goblins are small, black-hearted humanoids that lair in despoiled dungeons and other dismal settings. Individually weak, they gather in large numbers to torment other creatures.
BLART BLART BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART BLARTY BLARTY BLARTY BLART BLART
They do, but not to the point where it is mechanically significant (at least, not for Goblins acclimatized to the surface).
when I started playing dnd I was surprised by there looks, I thought they would be "Cuter" in a way.
goblin
If you have Volo’s Guide to Monsters you should have access to the Goblin race. They also appear in Wildmount, Ravnica, Ebberon and other sources.
yeah
Meanies
MAN! I wish that dndbeyond had a stats tracker for monsters.
Nah in my groups we become friends with them like you know phandalin well we kinda have almost every race in there we got teflings, goblins, koblods, one bullywug, one giant frog, elves, drows,a half drow, half elf, obviously humans,a scarecrow that has life to it from Cruse of strahd,a Dragonborn, halflings, Dwarfs, gomes,a firblog... and yes we do indeed have a devil in phandalin.
Devils (like all fiends) are intrinsically evil. HOWEVER, because each devil was once a mortal who either was LE in alignment or had made a deal with a devil, or was once an angel who fell to evil, then they are possible to become redeemed. But when a devil stops being LE, they stop being a devil. However, some "fallen angel" fiends (such as succubi) don't stop looking like fiends when they are redeemed, meaning they become celestials that look like fiends.
Point is, devils won't be good for as long as they are devils.
Yes
This is great to have in the basic rules! I have a monster manual, but sometimes using this is nice. I always use goblins in the start of my campaigns.
While that is true, devil's are deal makers, meaning that if they really wanted someone's soul then they might do anything to get it.
yep
Me when I goblin
Has someone answered this question for you yet?
I do! I love legend of Drizzt!

One of the best monsters to kill xD
In my session today my Wizard and my friend’s Dragonborn Ranger killed 390 goblins. The first 30 were needed to progress the story, but then the DM made us kill 60 more who were terrorizing people in the city looking for who killed the 30 goblins.
Then the Ranger, who had 20 Charisma, convinced my Wizard to help kill 300 goblins in a 50 foot diameter stronghold. We combined Fireball with the Ranger’s Lightning breath weapon, and our DM ruled that it increased the AOE of the attack enough so that it filled the entire stronghold. Every single goblin died.
Also the DM said that we saw a 1 legged goblin orphan, who’s entire extended family was killed, begging for money. They didn’t know our character’s did it. We gave him 5 gold and a dagger, and apparently he used the dagger for a peg leg.
I don’t want to kill any more goblins for a while.
And I’m going to make a Goblin Rouge with a Sword Leg who’s entire extended family was killed by Fireballs and Lightning Breath as a character eventually.
