Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the tarrasque fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance. The tarrasque has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Reflective Carapace. Any time the tarrasque is targeted by a magic missile spell, a line spell, or a spell that requires a ranged attack roll, roll a d6. On a 1 to 5, the tarrasque is unaffected. On a 6, the tarrasque is unaffected, and the effect is reflected back at the caster as though it originated from the tarrasque, turning the caster into the target.
Siege Monster. The tarrasque deals double damage to objects and structures.
Multiattack. The tarrasque can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes five attacks: one with its bite, two with its claws, one with its horns, and one with its tail. It can use its Swallow instead of its bite.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (4d12 + 10) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it is grappled (escape DC 20). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the tarrasque can’t bite another target.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 15ft., one target. Hit: 28 (4d8 + 10) slashing damage.
Horns. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 10ft., one target. Hit: 32 (4d10 + 10) piercing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 20ft., one target. Hit: 24 (4d6 + 10) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Frightful Presence. Each creature of the tarrasque’s choice within 120 feet of it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, with disadvantage if the tarrasque is within line of sight, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the tarrasque’s Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
Swallow. The tarrasque makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite’s damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the tarrasque, and it takes 56 (16d6) acid damage at the start of each of the tarrasque’s turns.
If the tarrasque takes 60 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the tarrasque must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of the tarrasque. If the tarrasque dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 30 feet of movement, exiting prone.
The tarrasque can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The tarrasque regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Attack. The tarrasque makes one claw attack or tail attack.
Move. The tarrasque moves up to half its speed.
Chomp (Costs 2 Actions). The tarrasque makes one bite attack or uses its Swallow.
!!!strong!!!
Make it fight a clay golem. If the tarrasque swallows one, he'll be in trouble.
Absolutely return regeneration to this. It isn’t The Tarrasque without it. The Tarrasque can’t be killed by a bunch of archers on flying carpets, or griffons. This diluted tarrasque can.
I would give it a swim speed too. And what happened to the burrow ability?
I would also consider giving it a thunder damage roar at a reasonable range. At this size, the sound would be overwhelming. At the very least, I would definitely let it impose deafness on my players.
Godzilla would **** a tarrasque
my lvl 20 party of 4 took TWO of these big boys out no problem 8)
SCP-682 HAS BREACHED CONTAINMENT AT GATE A.
Campaign climax fight: BBEG is an Illithilich who controls an army of Intellect Devourers. Seeking to conquer the material plane, he scourers the Underdark to find a sleeping Tarrasque. He awakens it, and his minions eventually succeed in Body Thief after reducing the Tarrasque from a INT 3 to INT 0 (not hard to do. 5 or 6 Devourers could do it in a round.) The Illithilich then uses his telepathically controlled Tarrasque (INT 12) to raze entire cities.
Even if you use Protection from Good and Evil, the Illithilich still has Counterspell or could disrupt concentration on the caster to allow another Devourer to enter back into the Tarrasque.
Man, I'd love to see a sadistic DM like Chris Perkins run this as a one-shot. Vecna can take a hike!
200,000 XP if you pull it off!
it's kinda sad that a werewolf with a +1 dagger and a Ring of Acid Resistance can kill this guy.
Hmm, I see a glaring loophole with this "bbeg" and that's the lack of resistance of any kind to exhaustion. This leads to 2 first level wizards with find familiar alternating one familiar resting the other playing loud music and otherwise keeping the Tarasque awake until it dies. They can simply get frightened for 1 min, be immune for the rest of their shift and play drums, drop water on the beast and do anything else annoying but from the safety of out of range above this. After a few weeks, the Tarasque drops dead from exhaustion, the mages level up a lot, and the gm crys.
They've got some extra special play testers for this edition.
Imagine if someone cyberized this....
Fun Fact: You can catch this thing and then use Simulcrum and Wish to basically get an infinite amount of tarrrasques.
poop
When your GF drinks all of your choccy milk, you send her this bad boi
An absolute monster of a creature
this is my dog now
The tarrasque would win. It has a challenge rating of 30, while the Warforged colossus has a challenge rating of 21 or something like that. how would a level 15 character for if he battled Juiblex in a 1V1 battle
Pretty sure this guy is supposed to regenerate 40 hit points per turn.
Oh well, I guess 5e is just weaker
Sul Khatesh is way more powerful and dangerous than this, unless you count idiocy toward its danger. Why is she just CR 28?
2 Questions:
1. For the Reflective Carapace, on a 6 is it an automatic hit on the caster, does it use the caster's attack roll, or does the Tarrasque make an attack roll?
2. I've seen some people on here talk about an earthbind aura. How exactly does that work?
If nothing else, I guess I can just make it up.
There's now a scroll to summon this boi... gods have mercy on those dms who think it's a good idea to give the players that kind of power.
