Posted Feb 21, 2023What happens when you fail the Wisdom Saving Throw from "dragon's presence." Does it act like an dragon's Frightful Presence action? Also I believe it might be a good idea to give Airagone actions in general...

Posted Mar 1, 2024So...I was playing DnD last weekend with my friends and our forever DM was like, "Hey guys, I found this cool monster on dndbeyond ;)"
We were like "cool, what is it?"
"Airagone"
"You mean Eragon?"
"No, I mean what I said."
Obviously we thought it was a joke, and then this thing came out of nowhere and we were like, oh not this again (our DM has a history of finding the...ahem...greatest homebrew anywhere. A year ago we fought the Swarm of tiamats orcus's tarrasques and krakens and went through several characters before we gave up.)
So basically, this was a really, really long session and we ended up with a TPK to "Action Ranged Attack". I don't know why our DM won't just use a False Hydra (or any traditionally "good" homebrew) but I also wouldn't change it for the world. Who else can say they were killed by "Action Ranged Attack"?
Seriously, I want to know.
Seriously...
If you (or a loved one) have been hurt by this creature, please seek help immediately.
For those curious, some of the other highlights of what our DM has thrown at us over the years include:
Seriously, check those out if you dare. They are some of the most fun we've had. Also, our DM always has done a "soft reset" in the campaigns when she throws these uh...totally serious combat encounters our way...usually it happens when one of the PCs is a murder hobo (never me, I find that playstyle boring bc I love the RP side of DnD). She usually times it for when people can't make it and it usually is just her, the murder hobo, one other person, and myself. She tends to act like it is a part of the campaign, having us use our characters and everything, but always reverts whatever happened by the next session.
Just wanted to clarify so people aren't like "That sounds like a bad DM" bc she's a great one :/
