Posted May 22, 2022This creature was inspired by iamtherubric's amazing art on Tiktok. It is a small chameleon like creature with 8 legs, various kinds of mushrooms growing out of its back, and a bifurcated tail. According to them, his name is Phil.
Bolete Chameleons live simple lives. Though they don't know much about the world around, them always make excellent decisions. Like running way very fast from harmful creatures after incapacitating them. Sometimes other fey keep them as pets, or even train them to be mounts.
They use their mushrooms to blend in and disappear into their surroundings, but their strong psychic abilities allow them to actually disappear and turn invisible. Their own spellcasting being more of a reflex to save themselves than something they actively choose to cast.
They eat bugs, occasionally other tiny fey creatures, and are especially fond of goodberries.
