Description
An Elementalisk is a subspecies to the dangerous Basilisk, the Elementalisk is similar to the basilisk like a Multilegged lizard however of smaller stature and its back holding a small gemstone where it stores energy, its teeth are flat indicating an herbivore but upon closer inspection their hollow which it utilizes in Consuming Elements like acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder.
for hundreds of years, it was thought that these little guys had no petrification properties but in recent years it was discovered that as their food source is scarce and or hard to find as they require elemental energies that they go into a sort of hibernation by petrifying themselves. this would by normal means kill them but they seem immune to petrification even from other sources.
They are quite easy to find in the wilderness, if a caster uses a simple spell creating an element that the Elementalisk can consume, they will slowly wake from slumber and dig their way out of the ground, they are cautious but will eventually approach for a meal.
They are adventurous little creatures often tamed by Thieves or students of arcanum as their poison-laced tongue is both deadly and a great base for alchemical advancements unfortunately, they are hunted quite ruthlessly for their gemstones, the gemstone adopts a certain color based on the most recent element digested jewel crafters seek them for their amazing hues while enchanters seek these gems for their magical properties as they make for decent catalysts. even though their skin is valuable for its immunity to petrification it won't help against being petrified if used as armor but it will give a decent toughness as its skin is rocklike in nature.

Posted Jun 19, 2022Yes, I know dark souls... I ain't no artist and it's the closest resembling creature I could think of, I made this as a pet/companion creature in mind but also wanted it to just be a cute little creature in general, i know my players are probably just going to slaughter them but hey i gave the cute little guy in my mind a chance and that is what matters.
