Posted Mar 17, 2025I am pretty sure, you can't ride it or be carried by it, even if you were a gnome or something like that.

Posted Apr 9, 2025I think it might depend, it is medium, so I think small creatures could ride it. You might need an exotic saddle for that though, and even then I can see a DM not allowing it.

Posted Apr 27, 2025I noticed what you're saying when I was making a build based on using the Chain Lock Familiar's Features effectively that the Grapple rules should allow for the Vulture to help with movement still. This is also my first time commenting ever on the website! :D

Posted Jan 6, 2026Strength of 7 means carry weight of 105 pounds, and the exotic saddle takes 40 of those pounds, meaning that your small or tiny character would have to weigh 65 pounds or less to ride a vulture.

Posted Apr 15, 2026Well, a Fairy weighs a few pounds, a Kobold around 25 lbs and a Goblin/Gnome/Halfling around 40 lbs on average. A Changeling can adept its weight also.
So there is quite some capacity to equip several additional items, before reaching the Vultures Limit. Even if you add a Bag of Holding, you have 10 lbs for armor and weapons.
On a flying mound you might be allright with a light armor and a ranged weapon. This should be within the limit as well.
There is also no reason why this shouldn't be allowed, like some said here.
The Vulture has an appropriate anatomy and the appropriate sizes according to RAW.
A flying mount doesn't need to have 4 legs and 2 wings like a Griffon for example.
Hell, even the Dragons in Game of Thrones (well, technically those are Wyverns and no Dragons, but that's a different topic) had only two legs and 2 wings and used their wings as limbs on the ground.
