Do you want to know what the future holds? While divination magic may be in short supply, we’ve got just the tool for you to catch a glimpse of what lies ahead: the Deck of Many Things fortune teller! This isn't your average schoolyard cootie catcher, either. Much like the legendary magic item, it can reveal fantastic fortune or disastrous ruin.
You can download this paper fortune teller for free, print it off, and use it in your games (or real life) to predict your next move. Keep reading below for instructions on how to make and use this clairvoyant device!
Unleash Chaos With The Deck of Many Things Set
Pick a card, any card! The Deck of Many Things set expands on the legendary Deck of Many Things with new player options, monsters, and more! Included in this bundle is the 192-page The Book of Many Things, an expanded 66-card Deck of Many Things, and a guidebook for using the cards in new and fun ways.
How to Make the Deck of Many Things Fortune Teller
Print It Off
- Download the Fortune Teller: Click the above image to open the fortune teller in full resolution. Right-click on the image and hit “Save image as…”
- Print It Out: Find the image that’s been downloaded on your device and print it. It doesn’t require fancy paper or anything—just a regular A4 or letter-sized sheet will do the trick.
- Fold the Fortune Teller: Follow the folding instructions below.
Fold It Up

It’s time to get crafty!
- Cut It Out: Cut out the fortune teller and place it so the blank side is facing up.
- First Fold: Fold all four corners to the center of the fortune teller.
- Second Fold: Flip the paper over and fold all four corners to the center again.
- Final Fold: Fold the fortune teller in half so that the squares labeled KEY, RING, STAFF, and SHIELD are on the outside.
- Get Ready to Use It: Slide your thumbs and index fingers into the slots under the squares to form your fortune teller. Congrats, you now hold the power of destiny in your hands!
Using the Deck of Many Things Fortune Teller
Now, onto the fun part: determining your destiny! While you can use the fortune teller in any way you choose, here are basic instructions:
- Pick a Symbol: Choose a symbol from the ones shown on the outside of the fortune teller.
- Spell It Out: Spell out the symbol, opening and closing the fortune teller with each letter, alternating opening on the X and Y axes.
- Choose a Number: Then, pick a number from the inside. Again, open and close it, this time counting out the letters in the number.
- Reveal the Fortune: Finally, pick another number and lift the corresponding flap to reveal a Deck of Many Things card from the expanded deck found in the Deck of Many Things set and learn what it might mean for your future.

"An 80-page hardcover guidebook showcasing each card in the expanded deck"
Unless I'm wrong, this isn't available from DDB. This is the book that's referenced in the video for making an adventure. The Book of Many Things only has a three-day spread.
