- Fold the Fortune Teller: Follow the folding instructions below.
Fold It Up
It’s time to get crafty!
- Cut It Out: Cut out the fortune teller and place it so the blank side is facing up.
- First Fold: Fold all four corners to the center of the fortune teller.
- Second Fold: Flip the paper over and fold all four corners to the center again.
- Final Fold: Fold the fortune teller in half so that the squares labeled KEY, RING, STAFF, and SHIELD are on the outside.
- Get Ready to Use It: Slide your thumbs and index fingers into the slots under the squares to form your fortune teller. Congrats, you now hold the power of destiny in your hands!
Using the Deck of Many Things Fortune Teller
Now, onto the fun part: determining your destiny! While you can use the fortune teller in any way you choose, here are basic instructions:
- Pick a Symbol: Choose a symbol from the ones shown on the outside of the fortune teller.
- Spell It Out: Spell out the symbol, opening and closing the fortune teller with each letter, alternating opening on the X and Y axes.
- Choose a Number: Then, pick a number from the inside. Again, open and close it, this time counting out the letters in the number.
- Reveal the Fortune: Finally, pick another number and lift the corresponding flap to reveal a Deck of Many Things card from the expanded deck found in the Deck of Many Things set and learn what it might mean for your future.

Cool, now when are we getting a digital deck to draw from during online games? Why isn't there a roller for these decks?
Looks cool
Thats what Roll20 is for /s
While cool....I feel we made enough of these as kids... But as a template for ones own designs i guess it has some use...
Agreed @gdominguez1216, but in this case, it would only take a d8.
Amazing - the best advent calendar item of the year so far, and it isn't even in the actual advent calendar. That is remarkably on-brand for this company as of late, albeit unintentionally.
This is so neat, I'm going to print it off and use it tonight. I've got a nervous NPC coming up and they can use this when feeling overwhelmed to make a decision :D
Update: We had a great time with it. The players even wanted a turn to play with it and ask questions.
I like that this is a fun but simple take on the Deck of Many Things
This is what we need in the advent calendar
Very confused why DDB is posting a link to this “building an adventure” video when the book that contains how to do that isn’t available digitally.
This is a really cool concept
haha the normal post are miles better than the advents calendar xD
Ooh, this is cool! I think I'll download it.
i asked for this!!! :D
Which book isn't available digitally?
A Millennial who used Cootie Catchers Designed this.
I applaud you.
We used to do this in grade school. It's neat to see it implemented in D&D this way...
very neat
I think that this method to play is very useful. Maybe, This the funniest manner to play D&d . I my case, I am A Lonely Dungeon Master and i am playing with several methods like Mythic (With my customs variations to play like dungeon master and not like player) And I use a virtual tabletop called TaleSpire It is the most playable virtual tabletop at the moment.
Thank you for this - it's a fun bit of chaos and entertainment for my game table!
