Hello world!
Today, all D&D Beyond Drops player options and monsters are now enabled for Master Tier content sharing.
By next Thursday (June 18), all D&D Beyond Drops Maps content will also be enabled for Master Tier content sharing.
Thank you for helping us continue to shape D&D Beyond Drops into the program you want it to be. I hope you enjoy creating and sharing more together!
*It may take up to 24 hours for Drops content to appear if you are shared on it. If you don't see Drops content in your library and are shared on it, you can manually resync your entitlements by visiting this link and clicking "Sync My Entitlements."

Posted Jun 11, 2026Content is shareable with anyone in the same campaign by anyone who has the Master tier and above. As in, they can read your books, use your monsters in the encounter builder, and yes, use your maps. That part is nothing new. It works the same way it does for you.

Posted Jun 12, 2026When content sharing is active it shares from all the owned content anyone in the campaign has. If the DM isn't the one with the Master tier subscription but someone else in the campaign does have that, then turning on content sharing when the drops encounter sharing goes live would give the DM access to the drops encounters.

Posted Jun 12, 2026I always wanted the Player Content shareable, but also the hyperbole about moustache twisting villains turning everything into microtransactions was insane and had to repeatedly be called out.
Stop acting like it's "Your way or the high way".

Posted Jun 12, 2026That changed a long time ago when they made the VTT publicly usable. All purchased content for Maps in a campaign with sharing turned on is usable by the DM of that campaign, even if they didn't buy it and don't have the Master Tier themselves.

Posted Jun 12, 2026Excellent—I appreciate the update and I’m so glad to be able to easily use this new content at my table. FWIW I would also buy a physical book based on Drops.

Posted Jun 12, 2026Well, you were wrong to defend it because here we are lol. Clearly the majority of people wanted it shareable and you were trying to say you were completely okay with how it was before. It's not "my way" or the highway, it's everyone's way since everyone else wanted it this way
Also I do not know where you're getting mustache twirling villains from since I never said that. Would you like to provide evidence that I did? I also never said that they're turning everything into microtransactions. This is why talking to you is frustrating, you have to make up a straw man. Just accept the fact that you were on the wrong side of this one particular issue and move on

Posted Jun 12, 2026Good change. THIS is the WOTC we want to support. The one who tries to make the game as inviting an experience as possible trusting that the monetization will happen naturally as a consequence of happy, engaged players and DMs and not in spite of us.

Posted Jun 12, 2026I want to thank Wizards for taking this step. I think everyone in the community wanted this to happen, and I am glad Wizards listened and made changes. I have been very impressed with the level of outreach and engagement, and this instance is particularly meaningful as it produced tangible results.
I also want to thank the members of the community who politely expressed their dissatisfaction with how these were implemented. The number of people who expressed their dislike in a polite and reasoned manner I like to think had a much bigger effect on Wizards than the more rabid, poorly articulated rants that infected this conversation.
I also want to apologize to Wizards for how some of the community treated you all. It was absolutely unacceptable that you all extended an invitation to dialogue, kept updating us on progress of changes, and some folks still attacked and belittled your staff. It was also unacceptable that some members of this community actively attacked others. And baffling to me that some saw “I want this changed, but can we be polite” as “I support the current way this works.”
I hope this instance has helped gain some trust with the players, and next time there are more of the former, polite protests, than the latter type of post.
