Nine Factions and a Society Run on Magic
Arcana Unleashed introduces 9 arcane factions, each with its own leadership, renown rewards, bastion facilities, member benefits, and rivalries. The book also adds 10 backgrounds, most of which are tied to a faction, so you can shape your character's story by embroiling them in the rivalries and alliances of arcane politics.

Does anyone know if the content in the adventure, i.e., the 6 high-CR creatures and 14 magic items, from Deadfall is duplicated in the Arcana Unleashed or are the also new content not avaliable outside of that book?
Yeah I know I hate that the Ancestral Sorcerer didn’t make the cut. As it was the subclass I was looking forward the most. Because Sorcerers in 5e have always suffered from not having a good baseline class like how the Fighter have the champion or the Barbarian has the berserker. Which are subclasses that are not specific but rather general that boosts the core themes of the class.
But no because a certain DND YouTuber complained about the subclass, the general appeal of it did not seem to be enough. Which is so sad as it would have been a good addition.
There was a time when dnd had 53 base classes; this was admittedly before the idea of archetypes.
but in the place of archetypes were nearly 1000 prestige classes, which usually had to be earned through in-game actions or very specific build commitments.
For me, the want for Psion is that within WOTC alone. The psionic classes at some time fit some of the niches of the old prestiges. but some of them dont "feel" like genuine psions. they are hybrids. but thats the very nature of the archetype system. The second part of it is that having a new class is something that breaks up some of the monotony; sometimes i might want more then sorcerer #32. but this is tied to me being an older player where there were tons of choice. i fully appreciate companies like mage hand press which add whole sweets of classes with different ways to play. i just wish we had more then 13 from first party
Am I the only one that thinks, that looking at this, that majority of it is just re worked old content from 5.0?
We're almost 2 full years in and we haven't gotten a solid "NEW" book for 5.5(2024) yet. It has all be re works of everything already released, with a few additions.
No new settings, or adventure modules.
Look, Ravenloft re work was nice, dont get me wrong. But are we ever going to get new non re treaded content for 5.5?
Mostly is. My personal opinions is withing 6 months to a year they should have cranked out a large supplement of all the feats, subclasses, spells, invocations that 5.0 had that did not make the PH. don't bother with new chapter fluff, just crank out a rules supplement to 5.5 players had true access to all that they were missing from 5.0. Then work on new content.

No, you are not the only one. Some are even infuriated about this. I prefer to see the good side : the wizard subclasses not in the PHB 2024 are finally here and the factions may be interesting to use as patrons and plot hooks ! And of course, the Deadfall adventure for characters level 11-20 is awesome !

Its good to eventually get the wizard subclasses but i think that and other missed content should have been out much much faster. And honestly from what I've heard they really did a number on the enchanter so it being reworked might not be for the best. By year 2 it should all be new content at this point imo. That being said a high level adventure is welcome, they really need a few more of those so getting one is nice.

Posted Jul 17, 2026We need more paladin subclasses. My fingers crossed on an effective arcane archer too. Maybe a new wizard subclass that has time magic, as well.

Posted Jul 18, 2026Serious question folks:
What are you hoping to get out of a Psion class that you don't get out of the Aberrant Mind Sorcerer?

Posted Jul 19, 2026I have already pre ordered the books. However I've yet to receive the digital dice yet. Is this intentional?
I was under the impression digital dice tended to be rewarded immediately as PO reporters once you make the purchase.
