Posted Jul 31, 2026Only thing I'm curious about is how they put social and exploration aspect of D&D into existing WoW dungeons. Outside of that, so far it sounds like a hefty morsel to enjoy.

Posted Jul 31, 2026I believe it was mentioned in the presentation (or maybe elsewhere) that all WoW class specializations will be playable through existing D&D classes/subclasses with a few new addition to cover the more niche ones. New Feats/Spells will make sure to you can have the feel of the different specs, and instructions will be included on how to play as each of the specs.

Posted Jul 31, 2026Why do I have to buy WoW stuff to get general non-setting specific subclasses? Predatory! I don't want to purchase crossover crap. Especially if its just to get a couple subclasses that have nothing to do with WoW.

Posted Jul 31, 2026Maybe the "Class Skins" will include something for that? Pact of the Fiend could easily be "Pact of Sargeras" or "Pact of the Fel". That has me the most curious, because there are a lot of subclasses we could have done based on WoW for each of WoW's classes/specs. Cant wait to see what the class skins do.

Posted Jul 31, 2026This looks like a blast and I'm definitely getting it, but putting some of the classic subclasses in this book feels kinda weird to me. However, if they plan on releasing those subclasses again in a core D&D expansion book then I would be totally fine with it.

Posted Jul 31, 2026Those subclasses do have do with WoW.
Swashbuckler = Outlaw Rogue, which is essentially a pirate duelist spec in WoW. They mirror each other quite well.
Warrior of Mystic Brews = Brewmaster Monk, Monk Lore has a lot to do with inner spirit and the august celestials (one of the many god types in WoW). The entire spec is based on different alcohol and tea brews.
Path of the Spiritual Guardian is the only one that is a stretch. I think they are tying it to the hero talent tree "farseer" available to Elemental/Resto shaman. The only problem is those are spell caster classes, not barbarians and there is no way they tie into Fury, Arms, or Protection warriors. I am nervous they are putting Shaman into the barbarian category and calling it a day.
Regardless, I dont mind revamped subclasses being in other books. If I want them enough Ill buy them, or go pull on the sleeve of friends who did buy them. Or check out the "homebrew" versions.

Posted Jul 31, 2026Ok hold on. Just a clarification. Is this 13 new classes for world of Warcraft? Or is this 13 new classes for dnd 5.5? I don’t know the world of Warcraft system so that’s why I’m wondering.
