D&D Beyond is excited to announce the release of the all-new, consolidated D&D Beyond App! Gone are the days of two separate apps: we’ve combined the power of the D&D Beyond toolset with new mobile features to make your Dungeons & Dragons 5th-edition games more accessible and more fun. The app is available to download for free on iOS and Android.
The toolset makes it easier to reference D&D content, with features ranging from a guided character creation, dynamic character sheets and spell management, plus the ability to search and bookmark books in your library. The app is the perfect mobile solution for every D&D player — whether you’re a new player, a veteran campaigner, or legendary Dungeon Master.

Play with Advantage
Mobile character creation is easier with the character builder tool walking you through every step of the character creation process. You’ll never have to enter a game without your character sheet again — access your characters online or offline and be ready for skill checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or whatever twists your DM throws at you. Manage your character's health, abilities, spells, and inventory.
Forgot your dice? Roll directly in the app with themed digital dice sets!
Dungeon Masters will enjoy the ability to easily access monster stat blocks and game rules in the D&D Beyond App. Bookmark your favorite monsters or frequently used rules, search spells, and gaze longingly over your backlog of characters you'd love to play (some day, maybe...).
What if I already own the Player App or Reader App?
Adventurers who have the D&D Beyond Player App will simply need to update the app to access the new tools! If you are using the D&D Beyond Reader App, you'll need to migrate over to the new app.

Posted Apr 13, 2021Since the player app is not available on my device (the reader app is available), does that mean that I will no longer be able to use the reader?

Posted Apr 14, 2021I never thought about but the platform could really benefit from getting a “Low Bandwidth Friendly” version similar to how DM’s Guild has Printer Friendly Versions.

Posted Apr 14, 2021So with the new app, how might one jump from character sheet/ encounter to a source book page? Currently I tend to have both apps and a couple of webpages to dndbeyond.com open.
Will be awesome if the app has an equivalent of tabs that remember what and where you were looking, allowing for quickly flitting from one context to another without loosing your place. Even better if the app works like Safari on iOS/iPadOS and gives multiple 'windows' in the app switcher.
Speaking of things that would be awesome, being able to copy/paste/print images from the apps would be great. I often want to print something out for use at my table or reading at night (without having to stare into the bright screen of my phone) and for this I have to use the web.

Posted Apr 14, 2021All new app? You still don’t even have all the features from your source books in the web app. Hopefully the new app has access to all the content.

Posted Apr 14, 2021The webapp and mobile app are most likely being developed by separate teams. I would not be surprised if the mobile app was being developed by an outside contracted partner.

Posted Apr 15, 2021You can still do that by accessing DDB in a browser in addition to the app.
