Terror awaits you in the Mists of Ravenloft. But why wait? When you preorder Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, you'll immediately unlock the Memento Mori digital dice set and six exclusive character sheet backdrops (shown below).
When Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft releases on May 18, you'll receive additional perks that take your character sheet into the Mists:
- 9 terrifying character sheet backdrops
- 6 sinister themes*
- 8 dread portrait frames
* An earlier version of this announcement incorrectly stated that eight themes would be included as a preorder perk.
(Click the images above for a closer look at the character sheet backdrops!)
What you'll find inside Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft

- The dhampir, hexblood, and reborn lineages, which add new abilities and traits to your characters
- Dark Gifts that flesh out your characters as they journey through the Domains of Dread
Dungeon Masters will also enjoy hundreds of pages of new material for their table:
- A brand-new adventure that introduces your players to Ravenloft
- A menageries of horrifying monsters such as the vampiric mind flayer and carrionette
- More than 30 Domains of Dread, including Dementlieu, Falkovnia, Kalakeri, and Lamordia, which appear for the first time in fifth edition
- and more!
Yeah, I only have 6 themes...no extra backdrops...lame.
You will get them. Just be patient.
How dark gift gonna be implemented into the character sheet?
If you already have you should have the book by now along with all the pre-order benefits (I got Ravenloft during the sale and a bunch of other books lol)
I have all of the frames, 6 of the themes and none of the post release backdrops its supposed to give, does anyone know why there is an odd delay? This has been the case all day and hasn't changed so I am a tad confused.
"9 terrifying character sheet backdrops"
There are only 6.
Thrill to the terror of the three backdrops that you cannot see.
