Choose one creature, object, or magical effect within range. Any spell of 3rd level or lower on the target ends. For each spell of 4th level or higher on the target, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a successful check, the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you automatically end the effects of a spell on the target if the spell's level is equal to or less than the level of the spell slot you used.
Is a wall an object? Let's say there is a stone wall 20' high and 200' long. It's filled with hundreds of glyphs. Would one casting of Dspel Magic wipe them all out?
Magical effects that aren't spells aren't affected by Dispel Magic.
It's important to keep in mind that the description, not the name, of a spell is what defines what the spell can do.
If a construct has some weakness to anti-magic it is usually just action restriction and not dismantling.
Could you give an example of a spell with a duration of Instantaneous that has a long-lasting spell?
A good example is animate dead, where the spell ends instantaneously but the effect of the spell (i.e., animating a dead body) can last much longer.
DC 19 spellcasting check and you kill someone's wish. That's crazy.
You have proficiency with your spellcasting ability.
