You summon several spirits that take the form of a beast, celestial, dragon, elemental, fey, monster, plant, or undead of certain challenge rating or lower that you choose, which appears in an unoccupied space that you can see within range. The spirits disappears when they drop to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
The spirits are friendly to you and your companions for the duration. Roll initiative for each spirit, which has its own turns - it shares any bonuses to initiative that the caster has. It obeys any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you), as long as they don't violate its alignment. If you don't issue any commands to the spirits, it defends itself and you from hostile creatures that approach within 30 feet but otherwise takes no actions.
- One spirit of challenge rating 8 or lower
- Two spirits of challenge rating 6 or lower
- Four spirits of challenge rating 4 or lower
- Six spirits of challenge rating 2 or lower
- Eight spirits of challenge rating 1 or lower

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the challenge rating increases by 1 for each level above.
