Base Class: Druid
Druids are naturally connected to the feywild, but some of them walk on the line between the feywild and material realm more than others. Learning of the ways of the fey as much as other druid. They are sometimes mistrusted among druids believing their connection to the fey to cause them to have too much of a chaotic nature.
Circle Spells
2nd-level Circle of the Feywild feature
You have formed a bond with the feywild, an unpredictable place filled with illusions. Your link with this feywild grants you access to some spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Circle of the Feywild Spells table.
Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
Circle of the Feywild Spells
| Druid Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 2nd | charm person, disguise self |
| 3rd | calm emotions, suggestion |
| 5th | blink, major image |
| 7th | dimension door, greater invisibility |
| 9th | seeming, mislead |
Summon Feywild Shadow
2nd-level Circle of Feywild feature
You can summon the primal shadow bound to your soul. As an action, you can expend one use of your Wild Shape feature to summon your Feywild shadow, rather than assuming a beast form.
The Shadow appears in an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. Each creature within 10 feet of the Shadow (other than you) when it appears must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be frightened of you and your shadow. They can repeat this save at the end of each of their turns ending the effect on itself on a success.
The shadow is friendly to you and your companions and obeys your commands. See this creature’s game statistics in the Feywild Shadow stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places. You determine the shadow’s appearance. Some Shadows take the form of a humanoid figure resembling its caster or a swarm of butterflies or a shadowed form of another beast.
FEYWILD SHADOW
Small elemental
Armor Class 13 (natural armor)
Hit Points 5 + five times your druid level
Speed 30 ft., fly 30 ft. (hover)
Damage Immunities
Condition Immunities charmed, frightened, grappled, prone, restrained
Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 12
Languages understands the languages you speak
Challenge — Proficiency Bonus (PB) equals your bonus
Actions
Shadow Seed. Ranged Weapon Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit, range 60 ft., one target you can see. Hit: 1d6 + PB fire damage.
Shadowy Teleportation. The spirit and each willing creature of your choice within 5 feet of it teleport up to 15 feet to unoccupied spaces you can see. Then each creature within 5 feet of the space that the spirit left must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or take 1d6 + PB fire damage.
In combat, the shadow shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. The only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the shadow can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.
The shadow manifests for 1 hour, until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you use this feature to summon the shadow again, or until you die.
Thinning the Veil
6th-level Circle of the Feywild feature
The bond with your Feywild Shadow enhances your Illusion and Enchantment spells. Whenever a creature makes a saving throw against one of your Illusion or Enchantment spells you can use your reaction to roll a d8 and subtract it from their saving throw. You can do this after their roll but before knowing the outcome.
In addition, when you cast a spell with a range other than self, the spell can originate from you or your feywild shadow.
Lingering Shadows
10th-level Circle of the Feywild feature
You gain the ability to capture shadows of fallen creatures. When a Small or larger creature dies within 30 feet of you or your feywild shadow, a shadow springs forth in the dead creature’s space for 1 minute. When a creature you can see within 30 ft of that space takes damage, you can use your reaction to swap the creature to a shadows position. The shadow is then destroyed and the attacking creature is blinded until the end of it’s next turn.
You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
One Final Trick
14th-level Circle of the Feywild feature
The bond with your feywild shadow can save you from death. If the spirit is within 120 feet of you when you are reduced to 0 hit points and thereby fall unconscious, you can swap places with the shadow, your feywild shadow then fades. You then regain half your hit points and immediately rise to your feet.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Posted Dec 8, 2024I really like the flavour, I think you did a good job of making the wildfire druid abilities seem plausible, and modifying them to fit the fey vibe without making it seem too weak or too powerful. I especially like the shadows ability as it can be used to teleport enemies into dangerous places but it blinds an ally briefly. I feel like it should impose disadvantage on the attack or something though because otherwise it is not that powerful. Maybe you can choose to blind the attacking creature so it can be used on enemies without negatively affecting allies. I honestly can't see much else to give feed back on that isn't positive, maybe make it fear or charm effects rather than blindness, I feel like that is a more fey thing than blindness. Maybe an additional use for the shadows where when a creature gets near it you can use it to make them afraid for a round, giving it 2 uses like the wildfire one but which both feel very fey coded.

Posted Dec 30, 2021Hope this helps someone out. I was kind of surprised there wasn't anything that was more fey focused for druid. Any ways made this modelled after wildfire. Psychic damage might be a little strong but I threw in some nerfs in other places. Feedback is appreciated.
I also had to change suggestion and calm emotions to allow for publishing from what I wanted. Phantasmal force for second level was what I was going to use initially and Nathair's mischief.
