Unfortunately buying a physical book from one retailer does not entitle you to a virtual copy from this retailer. For more information, feel free to visit our pricing and purchase FAQ and discussion.
You seem to have misread the pricing and purchase FAQ and Discussion thread. That's understandable, as there is a lot of information there. You can purchase the otherworldy patron for much cheaper than $90.
Q9: So what are all the partial purchases that are available and how much do they cost?
These are designed as "minimum purchases" to allow you to get to play what you want, with as little expenditure as possible. You can find the partial purchases on the same page as the book they are from.
Adventure Book Content (whole book) / Adventure Book Monsters (whole book) / Adventure Book Items (whole book): $ varies (look here)
As an example, playing an Aasimar Paladin, with a City Watch background would normally require you to purchase the Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters and the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, but instead you could purchase just Aasimar, Paladin & the background for under $9.
The purpose is to have flexible options for players who want different ways to consume the content.
Note that the prices above may become out-of-date and the prices in the marketplace always take precedence over these.
I strongly suggest that you read the post that was linked by SubsistCyber which will explain why there is a cost associated with using some content on D&D Beyond.
I'm trying to move my character's over to here for backups and I started with my Archfey warlock but don't have an option for it, only fiend.
Thank you for your post - we appreciate people taking the time to give us feedback.
D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.

But I already own physical copies of those three books. I shouldn't have to buy them again.
Edit: I would provide a pictue of them but I don't appear to have an option and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to one.

You honestly expect me to fork out 90 bucks to buy stuff I already have? That's all kinds of wrong.

I was refering to each individual book. I am not paying that much for stuff I already own.
Edit: I'm not paying for stuff I already own. Period.
