Foremost, thank you so much for providing this tool, my below is feed back and input. I apologise if some of this has already been addressed elsewhere, but there are a LOT of pages to go through, so I just wanted to get all my thoughts down in one area:
Character Builder Feedback: I have used other 5e generators, and have a favourite, but would love the DND Beyond Generator to take their place. As such, I want to put my two cents in in terms of what I would like to see improved.
Character Name
Can the random generator please be embedded directly into the form using a button, so that players don't have to go to an external site to find a name.
Character Details
Faith
Could you make this a drop down, in order to choose a Deity. Possibly make it filter down based on the chosen character Alignment. An "OTHER" option could also be made available that then allows the player to input a custom Faith/Deity.
Lifestyle
Can this please be moved to another section, for the most part this isn't something that DMs nor Players ever go back to or think about in game play. Perhaps add it to a different section, maybe under notes? If it is something that's supposed to be thought about, then perhaps it needs to be fleshed out more in the PHB?
Background and Personal Characteristics
Could the background be chosen first, then the Personality Traits be shown based on the background? As above, an "OTHER" option could be provided which allows the player to provide their own input.
Having the suggested characteristics at the bottom isn't that helpful considering players fill out the form from top to bottom XD
Also, can you have a button that generates a random d6/d8 roll in the browser?
Suggested Skill Proficiencies
Can you add an option when starting the character creation that asks players whether they want to stick purely to PHB suggestions for character creation? This way if a DM asks players to only build based on PHB, they don't go too far off rails?
Manage Equipment
Could this please be automated in the sense that the inventory is filled out based on the selected character background and Class? Once again, this could be tied to a button that appears at the start of character creation asking if Players want to stick to PHB rulesets only
Can equipment please be organised into groups, rather than being one long continuous list? E.g. Armor, Adventurers Gear, Weapons, Potions, etc. etc.
Can Gear and Equipment please be slotted into Equipped/Carried based on type, initially, and then players can go and change this later, rather than the other way around.
Can currency please be populated based on Character Background.
Character Avatar/Picture
Can there please be a community provided homebrew section for character avatars and portraits
Can players be allowed to choose from these community images
Could you please ensure the images are curated and approved similar to hombrew content at the moment
Can you allow players to upload their own images for avatars
Can you please provide a section for a full image, rather than just an avatar
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Coffee is required for the continued operation of this work unit.
Not sure if this has been mentioned already. I'm curios if you can add a favored shapes list to a druids character sheet where you add specific animals/elementals to. kind of like the item or spell list but instead it just slots in the quick stats you see in the compendium.

Soon.
Things NOT Available Yet
- Companions and Wild Shape sections. We are putting the finishing touches on a Companions section that will handle familiars, ranger companions, other pets, and cohorts/ followers. We'll add this into the beta soon. We will also incorporate a Wild Shape section that will enhance things a good bit for druids later in the beta.

I appreciate the feedback. I'll digest it all, but the random name generator line is a quick thing - you don't have to go out to the external website...the Randomize link above the field does what you're asking for already!
Hey Badeye, what export features are you looking at providing? Just a printable sheet, or more customizable options, like a CSV format? I would love to be able to manage my character here but export it to a character sheet where I have as much customization as I'd like.
All pretty much spot on badeye. Overall they are doing great with the sheet but those tweaks would streamline the process.
Backgrounds need to come sooner in creation for skills and such.
I thought cost of living was a bit unusual to add as even the campaigns where my players own a town I don't keep up with daily fees of living.
Inventory is a mess right now but they do have the search feature which helps a lot.
Faith im okay with typing I guess. I know there are tons of deities from many settings but I guess even a simple explanarion with alignment and campaign setting would help a lot.
Also we need unarmed Strike to be able to put under attacks.
I'm sure that it's been mentioned before, but the one thing that I think would be nice would be a die roller for character creation attributes, so that I could do the roll 4 drop 1 method of character creation or even a roll 3 method depending on what the DM wants. This would also then be able to be used for hit points as well.
I had another one as well as the first couple of times that I tried to use the standard array the list didn't remove the already selected items, but it's doing that now, which is awesome! But a built in die roller would be awesome to have, and building it out so that it works for hit points, or that someone can customize how they want to do it, so select number or type of dice to roll would be awesome!
EDITED/ADDED
It would be nice also if the attributes were done immediately after you select a class but prior to class features as if you're starting at level 8, for example, you now have to do multiple attribute improvements prior to actually having set your attributes.
Really like the character builder - very robust, intuitive and fast. Just want to add my agreement with the others who have said Attributes should be step 2 instead of three. In particular, it's kind awkward when creating higher level characters to be picking Attribute increases as a class feature when you don't even know what your attibute scores.
Also, it skill selections are often done in conjunction or after background choice, since there is sometimes overlap between skills granted by class and those granted by background (for example, you may not want to commit a skill choice granted by your class if you can also get it from your background. It may make sense to move skill selections to later in the process somehow.
Still getting through everything but the one item I noticed was that when I use a spell (Mage Armor) which ups my Armor Class from 10-13 base, the AC does not change at the top of the character sheet.
I don't know if the purpose of the character sheet is to be used while playing (it appears so), so if I am off base please ignore.
I love the character builder, and I look forward to both the updated and full versions being available. Done right, character management will be much easier.
An issue that I have that I haven't seen really addressed (though I haven't read the entire thread; it's just too much) is the attack menu. For my fighter, I have a greatsword and a light crossbow. I'm obviously going to be using my greatsword more often, but in the attacks list, it's below the crossbow. The lack of an off-hand option for dual wielding has been brought up by a few people as well.
More customization of the attack menu in general would be nice. Maybe I'm just being picky and eating my Skittles in even numbers by color so that neither side of my mouth gets less Skittle than the other.
That still doesn't explain why I can't choose the dragon ancestry as a sorcerer. It even says "At 1st level, you choose one type of dragon as your ancestor. The damage type associated with each dragon is used by features you gain later." and then lists the different dragons and their damaging types but no selection process.
so I decided to try a half elf sorcerer and found that only draconic bloodline is available and I can't even choose my draconic ancestry.
Hi Dandorian,
Thank you for your post - we appreciate people taking the time to give us feedback.
During the beta test of D&D Beyond, we'll only be including content that is freely available from Wizards of the Coast, including the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion and potentially others. The beta will not include additional content from a Commercially Released Book, Module or Supplement.
All of the remaining published content from the PHB, DMG, MM and other D&D 5th edition books will be added to D&D Beyond for product release - the cost for accessing this material has not yet been announced.

Hope this is the correct place to post this... Just some things I noticed while making some characters:
Bugs:
Magic Items that increase the DC of a Spell (such as the Robe of the Archmagi) don't seem to be affecting Spell DCs
Maybe I missed it, but I couldn't find a way to adjust the weight of Homebrew Magic Items
On my 8th level Warlock, I have the Scorching Ray spell, which casts 3 rays, plus 1 ray per spell level above 2nd, meaning that since my Warlock always casts spells at 4th level, I should have 5 rays, but at the top of the spell description it only says I get 1 ray (now maybe that is supposed to mean that it is just 2d6 damage per ray, but the Eldritch Blast spell does show the number of rays I am getting based on my current level.)
Although... Speaking of Eldritch Blast: It is showing my 8th level Warlock getting 3 total Rays, when at that character level, I should only be getting 2.
Quality of life improvements:
The "Agonizing Blast" Invocation (Warlock) adds your Charisma modifier to the damage of your Eldritch Blast cantrip. Can you please have this increased damage reflected on the Attack and/or Spell page? (Eldritch Spear and Repelling Blast also modify Eldritch Blast) (I believe Sorcerers get a similar bonus to damage, but I don't play one so I'm not positive)
Cleric: Limited Use tab: Channel Divinity: Can you please show the Channel Divinity that is granted by your Domain in this location as well? (for instance the Life Domain grants Channel Divinity: Preserve Life, and it would be handy to have all different things you can do with Channel Divinity listed together on the Limited Use page.)
Cleric: Attacks tab: At 8th level, Clerics gain a bonus to either weapon attack damage or cantrip damage, can this be reflected on the Attacks tab? (For instance, Life clerics get +1d8 Radiant damage 1/their turn (+2d8 at 14th) on weapon attacks)

Coffee smells like freshly ground heaven.
Coffee is both a means and an end.
Shh...coffee.
Pretty good still some minor work to be done but all around great job.
I would like to see more oaths for the paladin there is only one right now. I understand it's a bata.
When choosing a school for wizard, only Evocation comes up in the drop down menu.

Keen for a PHOTO UPLOAD option for character image on the Character Builder page.
