The UI is rather clunky, I was expecting much more. Also, although I don't have much time logged just yet it seems that you can't turn off certain rules for my campaign (yet). House rules on mine have maximum ability scores increased by the amount of your racial bonus. Example: Elf would have a 22 max Dex instead of the standard 20, I can see how to force it but having an override on certain rules would be a good thing.
I will play around more with it at a later date but right now I find the UI very busy and if I were to propose a UI like this at work being a Dev I would have to redo it.
Another suggestion is that we should have the ability to turn off all the help tips. Most of us know how to play and how to build so having that constantly show up seems rather pedantic.
I also think the help tips should be turned off by default, or after the first use. It generally isn't something you would need to use more than 1 or 2 times.

Got a gripe about Deep Gnome for it's racial stat bonus. It should include a +1 to Dexterity with the +2 Intelligence. [update] Oops, didn't see the ability score increase(weird wouldn't that just be a racial stat bonus).
Thought I'd mention this here, though it might be something that's coming later: in character creation I can't seem to pick Totem Warrior for my Level 3 Barbarian, though Path of the Bezerker is available. Is this going to be added?

Yes, it will be.
For the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion are available in Beyond. Once the full platform launches later this summer, the core rule books and others will be available for purchase, and the content within will be available for those that purchase, or have access through a DM's subscription.

Go into the builder and go to class, You'll be able to raise your class level there.
When arrows are being carried in "Gear" I feel like there should be a box to enter current amount so you can keep track of your ammo. and then when you close the dropdown it would be super handy if that amount showed up in brackets after so you can see at a glace ie; "Arrows (14)"
Also makes me think gear like Dungeon Packs should have a similar number box system to keep track of used torches, rations, etc.
I couldn't agree more. It's frustrating not being able to track remaining quantities of items. The same goes for items such as Potions of Healing.
The ability to easily amend the quantity of consumable items (ammunition, torches, rations, potions of healing etc) has been raised by quite a few people and I am hoping is part of the upcoming changes being made to the equipment manager.
Hey guys! Was testing out the character builder and found something you might want to look at...
I think arrows in the equipment manager is a little misleading. I realise it's listed as "Arrows" in the plural, but as the quantity next to it just says 1, it is a little ambiguous.
I was wondering why the equipment manager kept jamming as I selected my starting equipment, and after a while I realised it was trying to add 400 arrows to my inventory and couldn't handle it.
Maybe it would be good to change the wording to something like "A bundle of arrows (20)" instead, I think it'd be much clearer?
I realise the ability to easily amend the quantity of ammo has been raised a lot, but feel that this is a slightly different point. It's good that you can just click a button to grab 20 arrows when you're making your character, just that it's not signposted properly.
I found some problems, when tried to generate Wizard class
Step 2. Class. Spellcasting. There is no restriction to number of spells allowed on 1st level. I picked up twenty 1st level spells instead of six.
Step 3. Abilities. What about random option? It would be cool.
Step 4. Descriprion. When i choose background it would be nice to see flaws/bonds/ideals/traits options at "personal characteristic" section. Now I need to fill it manualy.
Step 5. Equipment. Again, i prefer to see starting equipment options not like they appears at now. Because now I should add all those stuff manualy.
Well. My opinion - for now paper is much much better.
Spellcasting - Wizards, as a class, are able to learn additional spells in their spellbook from scrolls and other Wizards, which is why the character editor allows you to add that many spells.
Abilities - not sure what you mean by random option? Do you mean that the character sheet should have "roll the dice for you" as an option, as well as Standard, Manual & Point buy?
Description - agreed on this, it would be great to have those options available to click on, to automatically fill the correct background detail.
Equipment - after initial feedback, the equipment manager is going through a major overhaul to create a better system, so keep an eye out for that in future patches!
About Spellcasting - Well yes. It's good at character sheet, but what about to add some text indicator or maybe some kind of checkbox in character builder, that will allow to restrict number of spells by level? Or maybe add some indicators that will separate spells learned by level and spells learned ingame
Abilities - yes, "roll the dice for you". I think players, who will decide to play without dices would appreciate this option.
This bug might fall under the "martial arts is being fixed" header, but bracers of defense don't seem to work with a monk. At least not when equipped on a level 10 aarockra monk.
As my first post I suppose I should start in what seems to be the traditional way at the moment and comment on how feats / subclasses etc are missing, as I imagine the developers are otherwise bored with nothing to do and just are eagerly awaiting the chance to post the whole 'SRD' comment / explanation which gives a little excitement for them in their humdrum work day. :)
On a serious note... love what I am seeing so far - though clearly not finished, I already find it quite easy to use compared to other products I've tried. My main comments at this stage have already been noted and seem to be being worked on - mainly the equipment management and ease of selecting background traits. But am looking forward to seeing this develop over the next few weeks!

I noticed this as well. When you adjust character level, it only effects the characters OVERALL level. To level up your class, you have to go into edit character, and go through all the pages and change your level there. This enables you to multiclass while keeping your overall class level information separate. It's a little annoying, but a ton of other people have commented on that and the developers are probably looking into fixing it.
I was recommended this site by a friend, and it is quite incredible. I can't use it for my current character, as it's an Unearthed Arcana class with UA feats as well, but if that all gets added when beta ends, then this'll definitely be the site I use. Props to you guys.
I suspect the lack of a few options, such as feats, is simply due to the site not being done. Aside from that I thought I should bring up the Ioun Stones, and potentially other magical items. The Ioun Stone of Intellect seemed to raise my Int past 20, and the Ioun Stone of Mastery didn't increase my prof bonus at all. Those are just a few things I noticed.
Overall, this is very impressive. I really hope to use this site once it's fleshed out a bit more. Good luck to you guys!

The missing stuff is because of the following:
For the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil companinon are available in Beyond. I really like seeing which spells that require an attack roll in the attack section of the character builder. The drop down menus leave a bit to be desired in terms of seeing your racial abilities, languages, and characteristics. It's a bit inconvenient to click on a drop down to investigate each of those things and when you do it feels cramped inside of a little box. Really which there was a way to auto add/choose the starting gear for each class. There are other character builders that can already do this and it feel unintuitive to have to add each item separately when building a character outside of the quickbuild mode.
Pretty good, but the final sheet lacks an intuitive design, easy to build and see all the choices, I hope this gets improved on, it feels like a good way to build a character but not a good alternative to having a physical sheet or other online character builder to look at.
