"All right let's try your way" Keeneye says, and starts looking for some rock as well, or some tool that could help. Investigation: 12
As he hears the opening sound, he hides his intentions and emotions. All the pain and fear that is swirling in his stomach reminds him of the huntings he used to lead. But as the kind words reach his ears, he turns to the hobgoblin also with a calm tone. "Thank you." He takes the cloths, and tries to apply it on the wounds to stop the bleeding, and to cover the wounds. Medicine: 20
"This fellow is right. You seem better than the others. Are you also more of a slave of theirs?"
You expertly wrap the bandages around the wound, pulling it tight and stopping the bleeding, though pretty close to alright already. You don't find anything that will be of much use.
At both your comments, Hevrik pauses. You see a small tear run down his eyes. His hand begins to shake, before he clenches it. "I'll be back in the morning." Is all he says before he walks out, and you hear the heavy clunk of a lock.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Well damn, my strength does not match that of the mighty Isran.
Hearing the conversations from the next cell, "Hevrik, you have good in your heart of hearts. Don't let the evil within this city taint that. Be the light in our darkness. You have known me for some time now. Have I not been kind to you, never caused you problems, I sit and I pray, I take my lashings from your comrades. You see my pain. You see the pain from all of us, help us. Be our light." In hopes he can sway the being, he can bring him to the side of the enslaved. "Help us fight this injustice, I beg you. Isran begs you."
OOC: Ok I'm hoping to either give Vulgrim advantage, or help persuade myself... if I get a persuasion roll then here it is. 6
After A few minutes of you trying to free Kinshra from her shackles, you hear a heavy clunk. (I will assume Nora will get out of view from the door). In walks the familiar face of Hevrik. He closes the door behind him. He's carrying two bowls, he turns, and sees Nora out of your chains. Sighing, he sets the two bowls, filled with a slightly smelling mush, down on the ground. You notice he seems more shaken than the last time you saw him. "So, this is how it is," he mutters. "At least you know your a prisoner, unlike many in this fortress."
"I know I can't stop you," he tells you both, "but at least give it a couple hours. That may give it so you don't kill yourselves trying to get gree."
With that, he walks out, his breath shaky. The lock clunks back in place.

Vulgrim stares a moment at the door and mutters quietly under his breath "the war inside is the hardest won" he shakes his head and looks over at his companion and studies him a moment, he is taken aback by the Goliaths efficiency with the bandaging and his speedy recovery after such a heavy beating.
He leans a little closer and says very seriously"Are you... are you going to eat that?" reaching for the second bowl of broth.
OOC: DM what was the material of the bowls? are they sturdy enough to be used for anything? Also could keeneye and i hear Balasar in the next cell? can we speak with him?
As the door unlocks Nora heads to the side of the door getting ready mentally to fight. As door opens and sees Hevrik, she hesitates for a second. Hearing him talk about waiting she will grab his hands before leaving "Thank you Hevrik, I knew you were better than the others but what happen to William and the halfling boy I can't just abandon them!"
Kinshra can't believe what the guard just said but she says nothing, grabbing her bowl and eating it in silence while she thinks in a way to free her as Nora did.

As Hevrik closes the door Nora stands in place, in disbelief she doesn't cry like last time but she is distraught. She sits by Kinshra and slurps the mush in silence.
Kinshra can't believe what the guard just said but she says nothing, grabbing her bowl and eating it in silence while she thinks in a way to free her as Nora did.
Before she finishes eating, Nora gets an idea and will help Kinshra out of her restraints. "My parents used to butter themselves to slip out of restraints I don't know if it will work but it's better than nothing! She grabs Kinshra's bowl out of her hands as she's eating and pours it into her bowl. "Hold out your hands..." She begins to pour the mush all over her hands and the restraints so she can try to slip out of them.

"Hey" Keeneye shouts at Vulgrim immediately, as he's about to take his bowl. As a goliath from the harsh mountains, he had to learn to fight for all the food he could get. It won't change in this circumstances either. "Keeneye doesn't share food." And so he slurps it all as fast as possible, keeping an eye on his company. He doesn't intend to intimidate the mate, but he want's to clarify his rules.
As he finishes the soupy broth, he picks up the improvised tool Vulgrim threw earlier toward him. He tries to free himself with that too, as nothing better layed around. Strength: 11

You listen to the prison around you, the slow drip of water somewhere, the goblin whispers of the guard outside, all fills your ears. Eventually, though, that diversity becomes a distraction, you think you hear something echoing from a crack in the wall opposite the door, but you can't make it out.

Ooc: just for reference, Vulgrim only found one suitable rock, whichever broke, but I'll eat you make the check anyway.
After you have eaten, you face off against your chains again. You strain long Andy hard, soon you fear it may prove again pointless. You thenfeel a noticeable shift. The right cuff has bent out of place. Slightly. Just enough, that if you squeeze, you may be able to free that hand.
afger a bout an hour, you are settling down for sleep tonight. Surprised, you hear the clunk of a lock. Sitting up. You see Hevrik walk in, carrrying another bowl, this one with a thin warmer made of what looks like paper..
"Lucky day, Balasar," he says, "Chef made one too many meals today. Seems he's trying out a new recipe." He sets the bowl down, and looks you square in the eye for a couple seconds, before leaving and closing the door again.
Looking at the strange warmer, you see it is a note. Wait for my signal.
You can't quite tell, but the mush seems a bit... chunkier this time.

Balasar give Hevrik a simple nod. Letting all the gratitude he can play across his eyes, trying to let Hevrik know how much he appreciates him. He eats his mush slow, trying to savor what very well may be his last meal, but if the mighty Isran chooses it to be his last then a glorious battle was to come, and Balasar was ready to fight. Once his meal is finished, he takes the small note and rolls it tight, and swallows it. There was no way he would allow the kindness fo Hevrik to ultimately destroy him.
Balasar goes back to the center of the cell, stands with his feet shoulder width apart and begins a prayer to Isran. He begins sparing with his hands cuffed in front of him. Short quick movements with his imaginable sword, wishing he could have an actual blade in his grasp again. His movements grow faster, stronger. Sweat begins to roll down his body as he gets close to the end of the prayer, The Dance of Blades, he brings his hands down one final time in a powerful movement ending with the blade in front of him and a fire in his eyes. He's ready for battle.
With one last final effort, his blood rushing through his veins he asks Isran one last time for strength to break his bonds that hold him, to give himself to his god.

“You are quite inventive “ she says as helps Nora moving her hands so all her nads and writs are covered by the mush. “I used this trick once and worked, I guess that the bruises don’t let me think straight”
