Valanthe takes a step forward, not waiting for the various lights to go in, "Doru - are you well? Here let me do something so that we can see you better..."
Aaaaaaaand Valanthe casts Faerie Fire using her innate ability right onto Doru and his side of the undercroft.
// I'm going to imagine that we said those things simultaneously because although Valanthe isn't necessarily intelligent, but she wouldn't say that after he casts eldritch blast... Lol//

(OOC: it kind of did though, right? Well, I'm good with it, LOL)
The shape reveals itself to be the emaciated form of a teenage boy. Doru screeches as he is hit with the eldritch blast and cowers away from you all. When he is targeted by faerie fire, he lets out an unholy scream of pain and rage as he falls on the floor, rolling about, shouting "Father! Father I'm blinded!!! I'M BLINDED!!!!! FATHER!!!!!!!!!" Then he doubles over in a fit of screaming and crawls into the shadows. "I WANT BLOOD!!!! I CAN SMELL YOU'RE BLOOD!!!!! Give it to me now! I'M BLIND AND STARVING!!!!!!"
Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
"Oh, you poor thing - I'm so sorry for the pain you're in... don't worry though - we'll save you from your pain and set you free so that you can rest. Erme will make sure to say a prayer so that you her shepherd ushers you to the right home." On those final words, Valanthe //using her bonus action after casting faerie fire with her action// casts divine favor and you see her sword begin to glow with a subtle radiance.
Doru crawls towards Valanthe, still avoiding eye contact with the light. He whimpers "I have no home. I only have Strahd. Strahd is my master." He tries to grope towards the stairs. His only escape.

"No, Doru, I'm sorry... you cannot go back to Strahd for he is the devil and will only bring you and your father more pain," Valanthe says. Then with deep sadness in her eyes, and perhaps a bit of pity, she says, "Maybe, maybe you can live somehow here in the church with your father - until we find a cure. Maybe you can be fed somehow, but..." stepping to block his path up the stairs, "... you cannot return to Strahd."

Doru snarls and hisses at Valanthe, "I can smell you're blood! My cruel father has starved me for a year! I WANT MY LIFE BACK!!!!! I WANT YOU'RE BLOOD!!!! GIVE IT TO ME!!!!
With that he lunges at Valanthe, his mouth foaming (all players roll initiative).

//DM question - I didn't realize faerie fire was also concentration - if i had the choice, I'd retcon the casting of divine favor (also concentration based) so that it was not cast - i think faerie fire is more important right now (advantage to hit!) - but i defer to you. //
Note to jr_el_leon: Doru is outlined in a pale blue light from faerie fire.
