I'm making a homebrew subclass and when I try to add a specific feat to the subclass, all of TCOE feats are not available to select. My work around has been allowing the player to 'choose a feat' option, which allows them to chose the one I intended for them to chose. Anyone experiencing this?
Do you own Tasha's yourself here on DDB? To use paid content in homebrew, you have to have purchased it yourself; content you have access to via content sharing cannot be used in homebrew.
Ah. Then, click on your user name in the upper right corner of this page (or, on mobile, under the menu button that looks like stacked lines), choose Account, then the Marketplace tab, then check under "Account Entitlements." if it says you need to sync, click the sync button. While you are there, scroll down and make sure it shows up under "Current Product Licenses"
Please let us know whether or not that fixes the issue for you.
Everything checks out. My account is current on being synced and TCoE shows up under Current Product Licenses. But I still can't put the feats into a homebrew subclass.
That modifier was only ever intended to function for the Variant Human. As such, the only modifier subtype that is actually used by any of the official content is the “choose a feat” subtype which works correctly as you noted. I wouldn’t expect this to change anytime soon.
Not to mention that granting a feat as a class feature is generally considered poor design. Feats are feats, class features are class features. Keep them separate.
In addition to this not happening in the subclass, this also happens when homebrewing a Variant Human. And when I attempt to select a specific feat, all the other feats are available. However the new TCoE feats don’t show up.

I do own it. Got it a couple of days ago before posting.

Hmm...well I'm stumped. Hopefully someone else who knows homebrew better than I will be able to come along and be of more help.

Gotcha. So this hasn’t been working for a while and it probably won’t change anytime soon. Right?
Thanks anyway!
