I advise against publishing homebrew unless you are completely sure that you know what you are doing. Once you publish a homebrew, you cannot make further changes to it. You can still update it with newer versions, but the old versions will still remain there permanently, which can clog things up.
If you just want to share your homebrew with your players and friends, there is no need to publish homebrew. Once you are in a campaign, all your homebrew in your collection are automatically shared.
I second XXXGammaRay's caution about publishing. Only a moderator can see your homebrew, so we will have to wait for one of them to take a look. But one common cause of this is not saving using the "Save Changes" button in the Basic Info section. Only clicking on that particular save button will run the checks to assess the homebrew for publishing.
