So I recently made a couple encounters for my campaign, and when I go to the encounters page they don't have the run button next to them like I see in the videos explaining how to use them. I didn't know that this was a paid feature if that is the case or if it isn't any help understanding why it doesn't work?
You do, in fact, need a subscription to use any of the early access tools. There is conflicting information about this on the subscriptions page, and as such, I don't actually know if you need a sub to use the stuff or not. I myself have a subscription and have never had any issue with the encounter builder. I checked just a few minutes ago and I still have encounters saved from several months ago.
The Encounter Builder (in Beta Testing) is available to all users - a user with NO subscription can save a max of 8 Encounters. Users with subscriptions can have an unlimited number of saved encounters.
The Combat Tracker (in Alpha Testing) is ONLY available to users that have a subscription. With a subscription, there will be a RUN button on an encounter to launch from the Encounter Builder into the Combat Tracker.
Whilst the two tools are tightly integrated, the Encounter Builder and Combat Tracker are separate elements.

The combat tracker itself is in alpha and I believe that requires a subscription to access.
