I have no idea what exactly happened when I built the character, but the monk stuff doesn't work properly. Like the title suggests, the unarmed strikes are just 1+STR, the monk weapons don't scale up, flurry of blows shows up as "Damage - ", the movement speed doesnt increase

I tried recreating it by following the exact same steps, but I couldn't do it. The steps were:

1. create a character with only mtg and eberron-content enabled

2. leonin race (picked perception)

3. barb 2 (picked athletics and intimidation), monk 6 (way of shadows)

4. point buy 15-13-14-9-13-8

5. change monk from shadows to open hand

6. take soldier background (insight + stealth + dragon chess)

7. done

You're wearing armour. Armour blocks both Unarmoured Defence as well as their Martial Arts ability.

Unarmored Defense

Beginning at 1st level, while you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier.

My character doesn't even have armor in their inventory (so it can't be equipped) and I still am dealing with the original posters issues.

I have even made a new (level 3 Giff monk) character recently and it's having the same issue as my (level 5 monk) Aarakocra linked above. The initial +10ft speed boost will apply but further levels in monk won't be represented regardless of equipment status.

The only way I've found to get around this issue so far is to completely override my walk speed (or swimming for Giff, and flying for Aarakocra) whenever I level up (within the Customize - Override Speeds tab). Very disappointing.

I mean - that linked character is level 5 - so it would only have +10 speed from Unarmoured Movement.

Those speed bonuses aren’t added every level, it shows you what the total speed bonus is.

 Everything on the character is looks correct except your speed is WAY to high. You should have 35 walking speed and 60 flying speed as a level 5 Aarakocra monk. Did you manually apply a +40 speed bonus?

Couldn't get the link to the first character to work so IDK if it is correct or not.
