I made a character with the Dual Wielder feat and the system doesn’t seem to calculate the additional +1 to AC even though I’m using two rapiers. Am I doing something wrong?
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the off-hand/AC bonus for this feat but what about the wording of the weight issue? What exactly can you wield that is not light?
"You can use two-weapon fighting even when the one-handed melee weapons you are wielding aren't light."
I think this needs to be clarified a lot. Where do I find the rule listing about off-hand weapon use? I understand how you are supposed to do it in "customize" in the weapon drop down menu, but when I do a "search everything" there is no match other than this thread...thanks.

The weight issue is just that the weapon does not need to have the Light property. With the Dual Wielder feat you can use the Two Weapon Fighting feature with any two one handed melee weapons. Without the feat the one handed melee weapons must both have the Light property. Also, there is no offhand.
Thank you for the information but I might have not been clear in asking my question. There is no mention of "Off-hand" anywhere in the Two-Weapon fighting section of the combat. So I was wondering how anyone would know this rule:
"Two-Weapon Fighting
When you take the Attack action and attack with a light melee weapon that you're holding in one hand, you can use a bonus action to attack with a different light melee weapon that you're holding in the other hand. You don't add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative.
If either weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon, instead of making a melee attack with it."
Yeah, offhand isn't in the official game rules *anywhere*. I freaking hate that dndbeyond uses it. There is no main/offhand mechanic in fifth. You simply have a left hand and a right hand. If you have a melee weapon with the Light property in each hand you can potentially gain the bonus action attack granted by TWF. If you have the feat the melee weapons do not need to have the Light property.

Have you set one of the rapiers to be wielded offhand?

The rules for Two Weapon Fighting can be found in the combat section of the phb.
