In my campaign, one of my players, a Monk, chose a feat (custom variants using Treantmonk's Variant) that provides +10 to speed. Effectively the same as "Mobile," but with different other features (including a +5 to iniative) tagged alongside. I used "Mobile" as a baseline feat (and to be clear, the issue I'm about to describe also took place when using the original "Mobile" feat).
The monk's initiative score changed when the feat was implemented (as it should have, showing that the feat is working properly), but the monk's speed did not change. We are using variant encumbrance, and I saw some posts in the past suggesting that "maybe the monk is encumbered?" or "are you sure you're not wearing armor?"— the monk is certainly not encumbered nor wearing armor, as the speed listed on the character sheet is "55 ft." (the correct amount for 30 + 15 from unarmored movement).
TL;DR:
Variant encumbrance enabled
Monk character, not encumbered, not wearing armor
Mobile feat (or similar feat, using "mobile" as a template for the custom feat) not providing +10 to speed.
No speed override or any other extraneous things that I can think of affecting the speed.
Thanks for the responses, guys. Turns out I did the math wrong. The reason I thought it wasn't working is because she had put in a speed override of 55, so when I added the feat nothing changed. I didn't check the math and I should have!
Sorry to waste people's time. Thanks all! This thread can be closed.

Looks right to me. 30 (base) + 15 (unarmored movement) + 10 (mobile) = 55
