During the beta test of D&D Beyond, we'll only be including content that is freely available from Wizards of the Coast, including the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion and potentially others. The beta will not include additional content from a Commercially Released Book, Module or Supplement.
That's great but there ARE 3 available patrons in the players handbook starting on page 107 " At 1st level you have struck a bargain with an otherworldly being of your choice: The Archfey, The Fiend or the Great Old One". The character builder is missing 2 of those. All of these are detailed on page 108-110. This does not include Undying or Celestial warlock from UA. Are you saying because that's a 'commercially released book' ie the Players Handbook, it won't be included in the beta?

Yes, that's exactly what he's saying. Wizards of the Coast doesn't want Curse giving away paid-only, copyrighted content.

So if I pay for a hero subscription now ALLthe warlock content will be available? Including the issue of not being able to select cantrips from other classes spell lists when using pact of the tome?

No. Subscriptions do NOT give you access to the non-free content. You have to make a purchase from the Marketplace.
Subscriptions only give you access to more character slots, turning off ads, homebrew, ect. In order to access content that is in any of the books that are not considered free content, you will have to purchase either the entire book, or you can purchase individual spells, classes, ect.
Oh I think I understand, I have to buy the handbook to be able to use the otherworldly patrons because that are not free content. but will getting the handbook make it so I can add can-trips from other classes spell lists when using pact of the tome?

Hey. I just bought the 5e players handbook through the website. "The Great Old One" Still isn't available as an option for my warlock. Please help!

wow. this entire thread has been incredibly helpful.... in letting me know how unhelpful the staff is. Hint: when you answer a customer's question where you want them to buy something, you should include a link. So in the following examples:
"Have you purchased everything you wish to use, that isn't considered SRD or Basic rules?:"
Am I to assume these will be available once this is out of the Beta?
Yes. On August 15, they will become available for purchase.
your answers should have included a link to the product in your marketplace where the item can be found and purchased.
Another hint: incomplete sentences come across as terse and dismissive.
As a brand new user to your site trying to use your product for the very first time, your customer service rep's responses lack quality and content and it reflects poorly on your entire website.

When you try to select an otherworldly patron it only offers "the fiend" missing the "archfey" and "Ancient one"

A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
But all the spells I need already exist on here, the issue is I just cant add them to pact of the tome spells list.
Also i can only choose the fiend as my otherworldly patron.
How do I fix this or is it a glitch?
Thanks for your help.
