Tried searching for a topic to address this but couldn't find one.

Yesterday, I moved a character from one campaign to another.  I was going to reuse him because the previous campaign ended. I copied him in case something went wrong.  But he was successfully moved over. I confirmed he was in the campaign and the tally of all my characters was correct. I deleted the copy and he was still there.  In the new campaign a player jumped on later and saw the character as he commented on it in a text.  I wake up this morning and the character is completely missing from the campaign. He no longer exists in my list of characters either and that count is now down by one.

What could have happened? Is there a way to recover him?

Did you leave them in there as “unclaimed?” If someone else claims it, then they get it.

 But wouldn't it still show up in the campaign?

Not if they claimed it and left. Or if it’s set to private it might be screwey. 🤷‍♂️

 Unless they removed or deleted it after.

We got it figured out.  Apparently he was click happy when he got into the campaign.  He claimed my character (which was set to private) and somehow created 2 more characters. I could only see one of the three. We managed to delete his duplicate creation and swing my missing character back to my campaign which I promptly claimed. Thanks for the help.
