We have content sharing on and I am the dm However the ranger does not see Hail of thorns in their spell list to be added as a spell they can use (I checked myself and its not there) Saw another thread on the forum but since it was from 2018 didn't wanna necro it.
Have them check their purchase history, to see if they purchased the PHB compendium, which lets them read the info on DDB, or the full PHB, which lets them use the various elements in the character builder. Hail of Thorns is one of the few Ranger spells that's in the PHB and not free via the Basic rules. So if they only purchased the compendium, they would need to either purchase the full book (the cost of purchasing the compendium will be applied, so it would only be about $10) or the spell in question ($2) or if they can look up the spell since they purchsed the compendium, they could recreate it using the homebrew tools. If they did purchase the full PHB, then they should try re-syncing their entitlements, or opening up a support ticket.
