Hi all. I'm playing with friends a forgotten Realms campaign. Just after Tasha's cauldron of everthing brekout I tried to make a new artificer level with my Bard.
Here is the question: Reaching 10th bard (and 1st Artificer) may I get 6th lv spells ?
Reason for Yes answer: Reaching 10th level I got Magical Secrets feat that allows me to take up to two spells from any class if I can cast that spell with my spellcast table. I'm a 11th lv spellcaster cause one level of artificer adds up one level of spellcasting to the ten from bard.
Reason for No answer: In the description of this feat also quotes: "A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip."
Maybe the last quote refers to the Bard table because it's in the bard section of the PH. Or maybe it is specically written to avoid this option ?
Both as a DM and player I would say no. You're an 11th level spell caster gaining you a 6th level slot by the multiclassing rules, but you're only a 10th bard. You still only have access to 5th level spells, EVEN THOUGH you have a 6th level spell slot. I look at these as a free upcast of something awesome instead of lamenting 'could-ave, should-aves'.

By 10th level, you have plundered magical knowledge from a wide spectrum of disciplines. Choose two spells from any classes, including this one. A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip.
The chosen spells count as bard spells for you and are included in the number in the Spells Known column of the Bard table.
You learn two additional spells from any classes at 14th level and again at 18th level.
I'm not lamenting at all. I'm just trying to figure out how this feat works.
Atm the only spell I really need is counterspell ("Jack of all trades" feat makes it super effective for a caster) that is 3rd so I can pick it up for sure.
Actually I'm more happy than sad. It's a ton less spell to check ;)

Thanks. Much appreciated. It should be great to have a pro DM opinion here :)

Spikepit is correct. Multiclassing rules do not overwrite magical secrets restrictions.

Your Bard level is the limiting factor.
Ok, so you all vote for No. It seems quite clear that 6th lv spells are not an allowed pick for my 10/1 Bard/Art. I guess this is the correct answer.
I mean, I think there is a reason why Magical secrets is assigned to lv 10th bard and not at 11th.
Thank you all.
Thank for your time Spikepit.
