I'm with a lot of you in that Eldritch Blast, while very cool, isn't worth the dip and it CERTAINLY isn't the only thing Warlock class is good for. That being said, I absolutely love being able to use my invocations to customize it how I wish, and the entire class. Because of that though, I especially think that dipping just for EB+AB is just a waste of 2 levels. If I was forced to 2-level dip Warlock, I'd still take EB, but rather with Repelling Blast (or Grasp of Hadar, depending on primary class) and some other utility because the no save push/pull is awesome.
I love the warlock customization so much that I've honestly played 4 different warlocks all accomplishing wildly different things. My first and favorite is the Genie/Chain, with which I just feel unstoppable.
My next favorite is probably Pact of the Blade (level 8 for 4 invocations and ASI) then multiclassing Swashbuckler all the way to 20. Jumps all over the battlefield with Relentless Hex handing out sneak attacks like Oprah. Literally the most fun combat I've ever witnessed.
If anything the part that should entice multiclassing into Warlock needs to be the Pact Boon along with Patron, either by Blade offering Cha to attack and dmg and later extra attack, extra cantrips and the ability to stay awake during long rests from Tome or just a dope little buddy from Chain.
I haven't played warlocks past 6th level, but really the only two things I'd really want to change are these:
Pact of the Blade grants CHA bonus, regardless of patron
Spell slots = PB
I like the idea of PB=spell pacts but not actually tied to them just progresses at the same rate. I also think they should get all their pact spell list as known spells and I think the spell list in general needs some love. Like other than the fact they didn't have something else to give a couple sub classes why isn't dominate person a option, that's about as warlocky as you can get. There are tons of spells that are themed very appropriately for warlocks but they just dont have them because only wizards get spells or something. I also think invocations should be gained at every even level, sure start with 2 at 2, but then another at 4,6,8 etc, this some levels its 2 apart some its 3 is just silly. And lets face it some invocations need to be fixed.
And yes for sure pact of the blade should grant that and hex blade should stop getting it, or add it thirsting blade so multi class dips need to go to 5 to get it though level 3 is something I guess.

Tying a Warlock's pact slots to their proficiency bonus would make them an even more powerful multiclass than they already are; if anything, one of the biggest problems Warlocks have is that there is not a lot of incentive to play a pure Warlock into higher levels; you get a lot of their best stuff early on and they multiclass very easily with any other Charisma caster (Bard, Paladin or Sorcerer).

They could just change the progression chart on spells to match proficiency so more spells per rest withoit making the class more multiclass fodder than it already is.

You would still need to dip at least 3 levels to get it though. That can set you behind other classes for a while.
Archetype features at Lv.1 and Lv.3, so the patron doesn't need to be so front-loaded. Alternatively, part of the Lv.1 feature might not come online until you get your pact boon, allowing better integration of boon and patron. Would handily solve the Hexdip problem, and allow for better patron/pact integration.

I'll have to defer to you on this, as I've never multiclassed a warlock (and in general, am not a fan of multiclassing [or optimizing/min-maxing]). I was thinking purely about a warlock who remains a warlock, and thus was likely shortsighted.

I pointed that out a couple months and several pages ago. 🤷♂️ If they simply mirrored PB but kept it tied specifically to class level, that would be okay. Something like this would help “fix” the warlock nicely:
”You have two Pact Magic spell slots, your number of slots increases by 1 when you reach higher levels in this class: 5th (3 slots), 9th (4 slots), 13th (5 slots) and 17th level (6 slots).”
That👆would actually incentivize people to play a Warlock to Tiers 3 & 4 instead of just a dip & yeet.

Everyone wants pact slots to follow Proficiency bonus progression, not for it to be tied to prof bonus to avoid multiclass shenanigans.
That ^ and Pact of the Blade giving the Charisma attack modifier.
Honestly, dragon warlock sounds awesome. Give them something similar to the genie vessel, some dragon magic, maybe a dragon-like transformation?
