Hey everyone, looking for some input for balancing purposes in my campaign. We have been playing this campaign for little over a year, the party is of mixed levels due to deaths and such. But our highest level character is a level 10 Lore Master Wizard. My concern right now is that when he chose it i was expecting tweaks to the Arcane Tradition but it appears to be abandoned. Although now it feels like they took this tradition and recreated it with the School of Invention.
The Lore Master has some abilities that do feel very, well overpowered compared to everyone else. I feel like forcing him to swap to another school feels off but unsure what to do so looking for some community recommendations!
Thanks in advance for any advise that is provided.
Lore Wizard can modify spells? It’s broke!! Get it out of here. I want to speak with the manager!
Google almost any spells and you’ll find a blog asking “is it broke?”. The Broke Tribe is alive and well in D&D and will force any innovation or new concepts to slog through their whines.
Plenty has been written in defense of the Lore Master, so I won’t repeat it. But, I will say that the Lore was the closest thematically to characters like Dr Strange and a is very cool concept. It’s a shame they exchanged that for a steam punk direction.

The OP was looking for advice on their campaign in February. Please do not raise old threads which have likely moved on from the original request.
