A 2nd level spell that requires concentration no less. Did someone at WotC really think this glorified street magician's trick was so awesome it just couldn't be a cantrip? Because that guy is stupid.
No cantrips let you create an extradimensional space that you can just make any handheld item teleport into for an hour. Sure, it's concentration, but it deserves it, as you can have your battle master or other melee fighter disarm a creature of a magic item, and then you run over and make it vanish to a place that it can't be recovered from until the spell ends.
The reason it is concentration, because it needs to be retrievable if you just make a super important item disappear, so that Rod of Eternal Destruction the BBEG is going to destroy the world with isn't immediately gone for one hour. Concentration makes sure that you can get it back by ending the concentration. If the spell was a cantrip, it would be way too powerful.
I do have one change I think the spell should have, summoning the object back as a bonus action, but this is the only thing I have wrong with the spell.
It makes sense that it is a level 2 spell, because most level 2 spells aren't super powerful, most are just useful utility spells.

So is Prestidigitation, if the power of wristpocket depends on creativity than flavor cantrip should not exist. But why do you say cantrips should not let you create extradimensional spaces? Is that a rule or something that I missed?
No, it's not a rule, it is just common sense. Cantrips are way to spam-able and free to let them create extradimensional spaces. That would be way too powerful.
Prestidigitation is a versatile spell, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything that would be useful in combat. Making a key item disappear FOREVER without expending a spell slot is way too powerful of an ability to be free all the time.
Wristpocket isn't a "flavor" spell. It can actually accomplish things that are useful outside of combat.
(The object can't be over 5 pounds, but you can cast enlarge/reduce to reduce the weight, or use the graviturgists' adjust density to reduce it even more. If you do this, you can fit an object 80 pounds or lower into the extradimensional space for the whole duration of Wristpocket. It works on any object, not just non-magical ones as well.)
This would be WAAAYYYY too powerful for a cantrip. Cantrips can't do this kind of thing. Cantrips are temporary party-tricks, simple damaging spells, or small utility spell. Wristpocket isn't a small utility spell. It is a major utility spell that can be used in combat.

I see this as a good thieving spell. Walk into a store, put it in your hand. there is no verbal or material, With a flick of your wrist it disappears. you walk out and go back to your room and then return the item to your hand.

Yet another reason why making it a cantrip would be even more broken.
You can't do perfect thievery for free.

It takes no action to drop concentration... which leads to my question:
Does the spell allow you to transport multiple objects over the whole duration of the spell. For example. There're two Fluffernutters set to detonate at slightly different times. Cast Wristpocket, get rid of Fluffernutter A. Fluffernutter A detonates safely in extradimensional plane. Can I, without re-casting, transport Fluffernutter B, so long as concentration has been maintained?
The reason I ask is the wording in the spell description,
You flick your wrist, causing one object in your hand to vanish. The object, which only you can be holding and can weigh no more than 5 pounds, is transported to an extradimensional space, where it remains for the duration.
Until the spell ends, you can use your action to summon the object to your free hand, and you can use your action to return the object to the extradimensional space. An object still in the pocket plane when the spell ends appears in your space, at your feet.
I think that "... one object..." refers to the fact that you can't have multiple items transported at once.
"... Until the spell ends, you can use your action to summon the object to your free hand...." Does this refer to the item in the space, or does it indicate that only one item can ever be affected, per casting of the spell?
Among other things, it makes for the best thief. Take Magic Initiate, and a first level thief can hide his loot and you can strip him naked and not find it. Note that the spell has no verbal components or Material components.

Yes, this is simply too powerful of a spell to be a cantrip.

Way too weak for 2nd level though. Almost all the creative things people bring up are more niche than needing prestidigitation to clean random X or the world dies. The stealing one is valid, but just add a verbal. Oh your fighter disarms the dude and you pick it up and put it in a extra dimensional pocket. You now what would have done the same thing. Just picking it up and holding onto it. Unless that person is also a battle master fighter you got it now. A bomb. Really how many ticking time bombs are in games. And if there is one would just cutting the fuse handle it as well, or just throwing it away.
OK, it is not a Cantrip. No one thinks it is third. That leaves 1st or 2nd.
Let's look at 1st level spells that are non-combat. First of all, note that in the real world, we can NOT duplicate this ability. An x ray machine can find anything you got on your body, Wristpocket is immune to that stuff.
Of the 1st level spells non-combat that can not be duplicated by tech, we got;
Detect Magic, Identify, Protection from Evil/Good, and unseen servant.
The first three are metamagical spells (they affect magical stuff). The last is duplicatable except for the invisible part, a minor flavor.
Wristpocket looks better than a1st level spell to me.
I would agree that it is a weak 2nd level spell. But better than locate object.
I have said many times, and will say again: Cantrips don't create dimensions. Wristpocket creates an extradimensional space. It is very useful. People who can't find uses for it that are clearly level 2 spell level equal abilities aren't trying hard enough to find creative uses of it:
Get rid of a bomb with no consequences whatsoever.
Transport a block of ice.
Combine with a few other abilities to secretly move a body, or other item that you must keep secret.
Move an immovable rod or immovable object.
Hide a weapon when you most need to.
Be the best street magician ever.
There are infinite uses of this ability, only limited to your imagination.

I'd say both floating disk and unseen servant are more powerful than this, as is comprehend languages and detect magic. I'd put protection form evil/good as a combat spell so its clearly better.
I think a better name for this spell would be "F-YOU rouge it's my spellbook."
I remember seeing Scanlan use this in season 1 of critical roll and I immediately thought of it as the perfect spell to keep my spellbook safe. As a second level concentration spell it's pretty useless for anyone other than an arcane trickster. And even then it's of limited utility. There were other ways to balance this to prevent perfect theivery, like adding a 1 minute casting time and verbal components. There really was no reason to bump it to second level, add a duration, or concentration.

But its only 5 pounds and up to 1 hour. I still think it should have been a cantrip, just not allow a magical item.
Cantrips should not let you create extradimensional spaces. The first spell that lets you do that is Rope Trick, which is level 2.
It is 2nd level because the things you can do with it if you're creative.
You can pick up a bomb that is about to explode, and whisk it away into an extradimensional space where it can hurt no one.
You can hide the MacGuffin the whole campaign if you play things right, making it so no-one knows where it is.
Sure, it has a weight limit, but it is still a very versatile spell.
