I've started to look at homebrew options and creating my own, and I've taken a look at the homebrew listings. Clearly there are too many to wade through as a general browse, too many bad, unbalanced or repetitive entries or contrived entries beginning with 'A', so i'm not going to bother browsing, which in a sense is a pity because I have seen a few good entries which whilst I won't be using are certainly deserving of being highlighted.
It is possible that in the search function, you can search for eg 'newest created' or 'most popular' in the respective categories as this might help identify good ideas?

I can’t say for “newest” but for “most popular” you can tap/click “Advanced Filters” and set the “rating threshold” higher. More popular homebrews are often rated with a +1 by users, the more +1s, the higher the rating. Also, the more “adds” something has indicates how many people are actually using the thing. Finally, if you find homebrew you like you can search for more by the same author as well. (Just wait for the spinning wheel to stop or it won’t register the user’s name correctly.)
Good points there, especially about the number of adds. I realise setting the threshold level helps, but I thought that I might miss some good ideas that have just a few likes.
Cheers and the link to best advice to give a new DM is a good one, nice one. I'm not new, but still open to new ideas and I know someone who is new so that might help her too :)
Seriously, I've been begging for a sort by date published function forever. Sorting by adds or views isn't a perfect fix. I view my homebrews several times (which counts) before publication, so they'll never pop up on the top of those lists.
I really wish there was an option to sort homebrew stuff by date, such as "newest to oldest" or "oldest to newest". This would be great because I like to see when something new is created. Otherwise I'm stuck with the more tedious method of sorting by least views and skimming through looking at the date.
An option like this would be very helpful.

Likely you would, but if you raise the minimum for “-9” to “0” it probably will help and you likely won’t miss much that you actually want to see.

Thanks. Yeah, I started D&D back in the early ‘90s and I still learn from that series all the time.

THANK YOU! I think you saved my sanity re: "Just wait for the spinning wheel to stop or it won’t register the user’s name correctly".
