When a Fighter takes the Superior Technique Fighting Style. They're supposed to get one superiority die. Which is a D6, if you choose Battle Master as your Archetype. It changes that die into a D8. Which isn't how that functions, it stays a D6. The rest are D8s.
Also, this is a much bigger issue. This fighting style is supposed to grant you an additional Combat Maneuver. DnD Beyond doesn't give you the ability to choose that maneuver. At least if you're a Battle Master Fighter. These things should probably be corrected. As I can't have been the only one to run into this issue. Besides, aren't you supposed to be able to use this app for Adventure's League play? For the sake of those people at least. It should be accurate.

I'm not seeing where anything changes the Superior Technique superiority die from a d6 to a d8. I've not looked up to see if there has been a clarification if you take ST at level 1 and Battle Master at level 3 how that affects things. There is this from Superior Technique:
You gain one superiority die, which is a d6 (this die is added to any superiority dice you have from another source). This die is used to fuel your maneuvers. A superiority die is expended when you use it. You regain your expended superiority dice when you finish a short or long rest.
So that's a little ambiguous. I do think the Battle Master's 10th level feature does change that ST die though:
Improved Combat Superiority
At 10th level, your superiority dice turn into d10s. At 18th level, they turn into d12s.
I think the wording from ST and the identical wording from the Martial Adept feat means all superiority dice change into d10s at BM 10 and d12s at BM 18.

Follow this how to on how to make a feat to put the appropriate limited use action on your character sheet for Superior Technique. That how to also shows how to fix the Martial Adept feat to correctly display the appropriate limited use action on the main Action instead of the Other Action tab. It used to not show on any Action tab, hence why I made the how to.
When I say it changes it. I mean DnD Beyond changes it. You're right the wording is ambiguous. Near as I can tell, that singular dice stays a D6. That's my issue with it. DnD Beyond however forces it to be a D8.
This is something for WoTC to fix. Not something that we should have to "work around"
I never posted this for users. I posted this so they can fix their shit.

2024 and this same problem still exists.
