Thieves' tools isn't a selectable option for a tool proficiency (in the criminal-spy background) nor is it available to select as an expertise for the rogue. This bug has been around for ages. will it be fixed for launch?
I noticed that. Although it does still show up in the proficiencies section of the character sheet. Which means that you can end up with 3 proficiencies.

can you link a character to me (either here or via PM) that you have this problem with?
I have just tested and:
I created several different characters with the Criminal/Spy background. They were all able to select Thieves Tools under tool proficiencies.
I created several Rogues and, in all cases, I was able to select Thieves Tools within Expertise.

Weird, I can select the thieves tools from the Criminal background and use Expertise on that tool. Can you post the link of the character in question?

If I view the character sheet, Thieves tools shows up. But I haven't selected it yet. The background still gives me the choice of two tools.
