Hi! I'm totally new here. I've bought physical Player's Handbook and there are two choices for Sorcerous origin: from dragons or raw/wild magic (I don't know how this will bee translated, I'm having books in different language - probably Raw Magic).
So I've tried to make my first character and I found that only one option is in Character Creator - Sorcerer can have only dragon powers :/
It is a bug or I must buy some "DLC" for it?
Friends recommended this website to me so I've logged and tried to create my first character and failed on this not so simple for noob task. Is there any other problems like that that I should be aware of? :)
Content found in the Player's Handbook, but not in the SRD (system reference document) or Basic Rules, must be paid for. For example, those two sorcerous origins you mentioned must be purchased on the site; either by purchasing the Player's Handbook, or purchasing the subclass itself for $2
Wizards of the Coast (who publish and print the books) and D&D Beyond are two different companies and none of the money you spent on your book goes to DDB. As such, you must pay for the content here, regardless of whether or not you own the physical book.
Although as an alternative to Dave's response above, DND Beyond does offer a full homebrew tool set. Therefore, if you don't want to pay for the content on the site, but do have the physical copy, you can simply homebrew those sub classes into your account. Note that it does take a little time and effort to do this, but it is a free option and allows you to still play these classes since you already purchased the physical copy.
You need to have bought the book digitally. It is like comparing a physical book to an e-book or audio book. There are different costs associate with manufacturing and supplying each. You don't get an e-book for free because you bought the paperback.
I also forgot to mention that if you join a campaign with someone who has a master tier subscription, enables content sharing, and at least one person in your campaign has purchased the Player's Handbook on DND Beyond, you too will then have full access to it's material even though someone else purchased it. This remains true as long as the players sharing the content remain in the campaign. Hopefully this helps.
