I do find it disappointing that Prepurchase are locked in at the purchase price after we complete a purchase. This is the second event this year where I have discovered the Prepurchase price has been undercut by promotions, and this time it is on 3 books instead of just 1.
I would hope that DNDBeyond can in the future find a way to prevent this from happening, as it severely diminishes the incentive to Prepurchase immediately when a new book comes out.

Agreed, I won't be "preordering" until the last possible minute from now on (if at all).
As for the current preorders, people really should be given a rebate or refund.
This is the official help article for this inquiry - I have reached out to DNDBeyond's support team, just in case it is feasible.
It is not a huge deal if not - I already have a discounted cost for purchasing the Legendary Bundle previously, but it is disheartening when the cost shows it would be even lower.

That article is for purchases. You've received the product bought.
You've pre-ordered. This is a wholly different scenario. You, by law, have a right to cancel up to the moment the content is released and provided to you.

I don't usually pre-order anything I'm interested in until either:
A). A promotion/discount comes up
B). The very last day you're able to preorder
That way, you don't miss out on any possible discounts until the book is about to be released.
