whenever l make a magic item that requires atunement, the full "Ring, rare (requires attunement by a )" Message appears. This is annoying, as it forces me to either leave it as it is, or finish the sentence, which is pointless, as the only logical thing l can put is "creature". It wouldn't be so bad lf it didn't have the "by a" at the end, but as it is, its annoying.

also, yes the "Ring, rare (requires attunement by a " was copy pasted from a homebrew i just made, with nothing in the ATTUNEMENT DESCRIPTION section, except a .. to get it accepted. (though it still appears if l write something in it.)

The issue you are experiencing would not be happening if you delete the .. as that is not actually a required field, so you can leave it blank and it will still be accepted and will only say (requires attunement).

Ah, thats why! thanks, removeing the text worked! (if its not actually required, why is the little orange "required" * beside it)

 (though the "by a" part is still annoying for other messages, like  "Automatic upon failed save.")

Well, that’s not an official Attunement description, and this whole website is built to cater towards the official stuff and not homebrews. Frankly, I find it most annoying that we can’t change “by a” to “by an” for those occasions when the next word starts with a vowel sound.
