In traits for making a homebrew race, I keep trying to add options under each racial trait, and as soon as I hit "save" it erases the whole option and doesn't save it. Not sure how to fix this problem.

You must be missing one of the required fields. The behavior you describe is typically seen when a required field has not been filled out.
