Basically what it says in the title. When I open the character sheet through D&D beyond they show up as normal, but when I download it as a PDF they do not. It can be changed manually, but still. Not sure if this is true with any setting, this is occuring with the hermit background specifically for me.
I'm unable to reproduce this. Could you share a link to the character sheet so a forum mod might have a look? You might also try bumping the character level up 1 and back down, just to force a re-fetch of data, and generate the PDF again.

I did try the solution above, but alas, no success. Can't seem to get the background onto my pdf :(
After you make any changes on your character sheet you MUST wait 20 minutes before exporting to PDF.
